CHOCOLATE FONDUE

Few things can satisfy a sweet craving like warm, rich, silky chocolate ganache. We used a combination of chocolate for a nicely balanced fondue that's perfect for dipping pound cake, fruit or pretzels.

BITTERSWEET CHOCOLATE-ORANGE FONDUE

Grand Marnier and grated orange peel add a touch of elegance to this simple indulgence. Prepare the fondue just before serving, and keep it warm while dipping so that it will remain smooth. Be sure the heat is low; too much heat will cause the chocolate to burn. Angel food cake, pound cake and and a variety of fresh fruit could be used

  • In a medium saucepan, combine chocolate chips and heavy cream and heat on low, stirring constantly until the chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth. Do not let come to a boil or chocolate might seize.
  • Once chocolate is melted, stir in vanilla extract and sea salt. If you need it to be thinner, add 1 tbsp of heavy cream at a time until it reaches desired consistency. Pour mixture in fondue pot to keep warm.

  • In a saucepan, combine the chocolate, milk and cream and heat on low, stirring often, until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth. Don't let it come to a boil; keep it on low heat.
  • Once melted, stir in the vanilla extract. If needed, stir in heavy cream or milk a tablespoon at a time to adjust for a thinner consistency. Pour the mixture into a fondue pot or small slow cooker to keep warm while serving.
  • Serve with dippers of your choice. We love: marshmallows, vanilla cookies, strawberries, rice krispie treats cut in little squares, bananas.
  • Any extra chocolate leftovers (??) will keep well in the refrigerator - just reheat on low to have yourself another chocolate fondue experience.
