Steps:
- Spray a 15x10x1-inch pan with cooking spray. Pour the cereal into a large bowl.
- Place the butter and marshmallows in a 2-quart saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is smooth. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
- Stir in the food color until the mixture is evenly colored. Pour the marshmallow mixture over the cereal and stir until it is evenly coated. Pour the mixture into the pan. With the buttered back of a spoon, press the mixture in the pan until it is even. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
- With 2-inch cookie cutters, cut the mixture into shapes. Decorate the cutouts using the decorator icing to attach the candies. Store the cutouts in a loosely covered container.

CEREAL TREATS I
This version has no chocolate topping, but it would be easy to melt chocolate chips and spread them over the top. We have a nut allergy in our family and I omit the peanut butter and substitute 1/2 cup of butterscotch chips melted with the margarine instead.

Steps:
- Spray a 13 x 9 inch pan on bottom and sides with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a large bowl in microwave, melt margarine. Add marshmallows, stir to coat. Microwave on high 1 1/2 minutes or until smooth when stirred for 45 seconds. Stir in peanut butter.
- Add cereal all at once and stir quickly to coat. With buttered spatula, press into prepared pan. Cool and cut into squares.

Steps:
- Butter 15x10x1-inch pan. Coarsely crush cereal. (To easily crush cereal, place in plastic bag or between sheets of waxed paper, and crush with rolling pin.)
- In large microwavable bowl, microwave marshmallows and butter uncovered on High 2 to 3 minutes, stirring each minute, until mixture is smooth. Stir in crushed cereal. Using buttered back of spoon or hands, press firmly in pan. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.
- Cut into shapes with 2 1/2- to 3-inch holiday cutters (such as Fourth of July flag or star, Halloween pumpkin or ghost, Christmas tree or snowman, Hanukkah dreidel or star, Easter egg or bunny, etc.). Decorate with frosting and candies.

- Line 9-inch square pan with foil, letting foil hang 2 inches over sides of pan. Spray foil with cooking spray. In large microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 45 seconds or until almost melted. Add 4 cups marshmallows; stir to coat. Microwave uncovered on High 1 1/2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until marshmallows are melted.
- Add cereal to marshmallow mixture; stir to combine. With sprayed back of spoon, press mixture firmly and evenly in pan. Sprinkle candy sprinkles on top. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
- Using foil to lift, remove from pan, and peel foil away. Cut cereal mixture into desired shapes with 3- or 4-inch cookie cutters (ideas for shapes include balloon, clover, heart, moon, rainbow and shooting star). Roll remaining scraps into 1 1/2-inch balls. Drizzle cookie icings over tops of shapes. Let stand until set, about 30 minutes. Store in single layer in covered container.
