GARLIC AND CHEESE CRACK BREAD

Garlic and Cheese Crack Bread image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a small saucepan on low heat on the stove, melt butter, then add garlic, salt and pepper.
  • Score top of the bread on a diagonal into small diamonds, being sure not to cut all the way through.
  • Using your fingers, pry bread cracks open and stuff with brick cheese, being careful not to rip the bread. Using a basting brush, cover the loaf with the garlic butter.
  • Top with Cheddar-Monterey Jack cheese and sprinkle Italian seasoning on top.
  • Bake until golden brown, 10 to 15 minutes.

2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
One 1-pound cheese sourdough or plain sourdough loaf of bread, preferably an Asiago cheese loaf
1 cup shredded Wisconsin brick cheese
1 cup shredded Cheddar-Monterey Jack blend
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

CHEESY CRACK BREAD

Yup... we see why this bread could be addicting. The cheese mixture is so good and creamy. This would top off an Italian meal perfectly. But, cut this into bite-sized pieces and they'd be a great appetizer. Yum!

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, mix together the cheeses and the green onion. Stir in the mayo & sour cream. In a separate small bowl blend the butter and garlic until smooth. Add the butter mixture to the cheese mixture.
  • 2. Preheat broiler. Lay crust side of bread down. Spread the cheese mixture over the bread. Place under the broiler until nicely browned, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • 3. Remove from broiler and let sit for 5 minutes (will be extremely HOT). Slice the bread with a bread knife and serve!

8 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
1 lb shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 c green onions, chopped
1/2 c mayonnaise
2 Tbsp sour cream
3-4 clove garlic, minced
1 stick butter, softened to point of being slightly melted
1-2 loaves of French bread or ciabatta or a baguette - sliced into two

CHEESY PULL-APART GARLIC BREAD

Studded with melty cheese and herbs, this garlic bread couldn't be easier! I like to buy a crusty round loaf of bread right from the bakery section of my grocery store. Be careful not to cut all the way through the loaf-you don't want the cheese to ooze out the bottom and stick to the pan.

Cheesy Pull-Apart Garlic Bread image

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Score the bread with 2-inch-deep cuts with a serrated knife into a 1-inch diamond pattern without slicing all the way through. Place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
  • Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the parsley, onion powder, salt and garlic. Brush the butter mixture all over the bread and into the cut diamonds using a pastry brush. Insert the cheese cubes in the crevices of the bread.
  • Cover the bread with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly, 8 to 10 more minutes. Sprinkle with more fresh parsley. Serve hot!

1 small round loaf sourdough bread (7 ounces)
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley, plus for more garnish
1 teaspoon onion powder
Pinch kosher salt
5 cloves garlic, minced
4 ounces mozzarella, cut into 1/2-inch cubes

We serve this bread with just about everything, from a salad lunch to pasta dinner. It even made an appearance at Thanksgiving! Hope you enjoy!

Steps:

  • 1. Cut the loaf of bread lengthwise and lay out on a baking sheet, cut side up. The baking sheet can be foil-lined for easier clean up.
  • 2. Mix all the other ingredients together. Depending on how soft your cream cheese is, your mixture may end up lumpy. This doesn't matter - will be just fine either way.
  • 3. Spread the cream cheese mixture on the bread.
  • 4. Place under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese and bubbling and the bread is just beginning to brown around the edges. Cut in slices and serve! (Best to make 2 batches, as the first will disappear quickly!)

1 loaf crusty bread, like italian
1/2 brick, cream cheese, softened
1/2 stick, butter, softened
1 - 2 tsp minced garlic (to taste)
1/2 tsp garlic powder (or more, to taste)
2 Tbsp parmesan cheese
generous sprinkle parsley (optional, makes it pretty)

  • Wrap the entire loaf in foil. To make ahead, place the foil wrapped bread in the fridge overnight or in the freezer for a month, thawing before baking. Place on a rimmed baking sheet, and bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese has mostly melted. Carefully remove the foil and continue to bake for another 5 minutes, or until crusty. Serve immediately.
