Steps:
- In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar and 2 tablespoons cocoa. Stir in milk and oil until smooth. Pour into a greased 8-in. square baking pan. Combine the brown sugar and remaining cocoa; sprinkle over batter. Pour hot water over top (do not stir). Bake at 350° until top of cake springs back when lightly touched, 40-45 minutes. Serve warm, with ice cream if desired.

CHOCOLATE COBBLER WITH CHERRY ICE CREAM
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Pour the melted butter into a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour, milk, vanilla and 1 1/2 cups of the sugar. Mix well and pour over the melted butter.
- In another bowl, mix together the cocoa powder and remaining 1 cup sugar. Sift over the baking dish with the melted butter and flour mixture. Pour 3/4 to 1 cup of hot, hot water over top. Bake until firm on top but still gooey and chocolatey on the inside, 30 to 35 minutes.
- Serve warm with cherry ice cream.

- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Melt butter in an 8x8 inch baking dish while the oven preheats.
- In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, 3/4 cup sugar, and 1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa. Stir in milk and vanilla until smooth. Spoon this batter over the melted butter in the baking dish.
- Stir together the remaining cup of sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa powder. Sprinkle over the batter. Slowly pour boiling water over the top of the mixture.
- Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until set. Serve slightly warm with ice cream.

Steps:
- Melt butter in 13x9 pan or dish at 350 degrees.
- Combine flour, 3/4c sugar, pecans, 1-1/2T cocoa, milk and vanilla in a small bowl.
- Spoon over melted butter.
- DO NOT STIR.
- Mix 1c sugar and the 1/4c cocoa together and sprinkle back and forth over the batter.
- DO NOT STIR.
- Pour boiling water over top.
- DO NOT STIR.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min.
- Cool somewhat.
- Cover with hot fudge sauce and vanilla ice cream, if desired.

- 1. Preheat oven to 350. In a 9x13 glass baking dish, melt the two sticks of butter in the oven for 5 minutes.
- 2. Meanwhile in a bowl, mix together the 1 1/4 cups of sugar, flour, vanilla, and milk.
- 3. Once the butter is melted, pour the batter over the butter, but do not stir.
- 4. In a separate bowl, mix together the cocoa and remaining sugar.
- 5. Sprinkle cocoa/sugar mixture on top of batter. Do not stir.
- 6. Pour the 2 cups of boiling water on top of that (don't stir).
- 7. Bake for 40-45 minutes. I bake mine until I have a nice golden brown crust.
- 8. Serve warm. Great with ice cream.

My family loves chocolate cobbler. It is so simple and easy to make it. They are so delicious and sweet.

- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2. First stir together the flour, baking powder, salt, 3 tablespoons of the cocoa, and 3/4 cup of the white sugar. Reserve the remaining cocoa and sugar.
- 3. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla to the flour mixture. Mix until smooth.
- 4. Pour the mixture into an ungreased 8-inch baking dish. I prefer my small oval Corning Ware glass dish.
- 5. In a separate small bowl, mix the remaining white sugar (it should be 1/2 cup), the brown sugar, and remaining 4 tablespoons of cocoa. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter.
- 6. Pour the hot tap water over all. DO NOT STIR!
- 7. Bake for about 40 minutes or until the center is set.
- 8. Let stand for a few minutes if you can hold yourself back. Serve with homemade ice cream using the gooey sauce to spoon over all.
