  • 1. Cut steak into 6 serving pieces or more.
  • 2. Place in slow cooker.
  • 3. Add onion soup mix, water and mushroom soup.
  • 4. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.

1 pkg dry onion soup mix
1/4 c water
1 can(s) cream of mushroom soup

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in crock pot.
  • Cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 5-6 hours.
  • Goes well with mashed potatoes (makes a wonderful gravy!).

Steps:

  • Season the steak with the salt and pepper and cut into serving sized pieces.
  • Mix soup, water, onion with kitchen bouquet in 2 quart crock pot.
  • Add the steak by dredging the pieces in the soup mixture and adding to the crock pot.
  • Cook on low for 8-10 hours. Adjust time for hotter-cooking newer crock pots by cooking for 6-8 hours.
  • At the end of the cook time, mix flour with 1/4 cup water and add half the flour slurry, allowing 15 minutes to thicken. Add the remainder if necessary to thicken further.
  • Serve with noodles or rice.

2 lbs steak (I use cheaper cuts like shoulder steak)
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon Kitchen Bouquet (or equivalent)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper (freshly ground)
1/2 onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tablespoons flour

  • In a bowl combine flour, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Coat steak pieces with flour mixture. Melt butter in skillet and brown steak on both sides. Remove steak and put in slow cooker.
  • Cover steak pieces with the sliced onion broken into onion rings. Add carrots. In a bowl whisk together the onion soup mix, beef broth, mushrooms, brown sugar, allspice, and ginger. (If you have any leftover flour from dredging meat you can add this to the broth, toPour over steak, onion and carrots. Add bay leaf.
  • Cook on high for 5 to 6 hours or low for 8 to 9 hours or until meat is tender. Remove bay leaf before serving. Great over rice, noodles or mashed potatoes.
