A frappé is simply a slushy drink made by blending fruit, fruit juice and ice.

Fresh Fruit Frappé image

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients except ice and sliced pineapple. Fill blender one-half full with fruit mixture; add crushed ice to fill to top. Cover and blend on high speed about 30 seconds until smooth. Repeat with remaining fruit mixture. Garnish with sliced pineapple. Serve immediately.

Steps:

  • Put juice, banana, strawberries and vanilla extract in the blender. Blend for 20 to 30 seconds on puree settings until smooth. Add yogurt and ice. Blend about 30 seconds or until the yogurt is well blended and ice is slightly crunchy. Serve in tall glasses and garnish with a big red strawberry.

Steps:

  • Chop lemongrass and heat with sugar and water until sugar has dissolved.
  • Let cool, then strain out lemongrass and chill syrup.
  • Pulse half of fruit with half the sugar syrup, 1 cup of ice cubes and 1 1/4 cups cream until blended and frothy.
  • Pour into a chilled pitcher and repeat with remaining ingredients.
  • Serve immediately.

  • Remove from the bowl/food processor place on lightly floured flat surface and knead to form a smooth compact dough (it should not be sticky). Wrap the dough in plastic and chill for 30 minutes in the fridge.
  • Remove from fridge and taking 1/4 of the dough at a time roll into a very thin rectangle or square, cut into approximately 2-3 inch sizes and fry in a pot of hot vegetable oil (approximately 2-3 inches (5-8 cm) of oil, temperature must reach 340-350F (170-175C) and try to stay at this temperature or they could burn). Fry until golden turning the frappe over while frying. Remove to drain and cool on a plate lined with paper towels. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate. Enjoy!
