Honey Mustard Chicken Crock Pot Recipes
HONEY-MUSTARD CHICKEN (CROCK POT)
An easy, no-fuss recipe. Update: I've cut the amount of butter in half, it works well with less butter.

Steps:
- Brown chicken in skillet and transfer to slow cooker.
- Melt butter is a small saucepan. Remove from heat and add all other ingredients, stirring well. Pour over chicken.
- Cook on LOW for 4 to 6 hours. Serve with rice.
- Note1: You can also use one whole chicken cut up into serving pieces. If using just breasts, watch for drying out - fortunately there is a lot of sauce.
- Note2: Dijon mustard is good in this, instead of sweet and hot mustard.
- Note3: This recipe works well without browning the chicken, although I prefer to brown it. You can use skinless.

- Heat half the oil in a large frying pan or shallow casserole with a lid. Brown the chicken until golden, then set aside. Heat the remaining oil, then cook the onions for 5 mins until softened.
- Nestle the thighs back amongst the onions and add the parnips. Mix the stock with the mustard and honey, then pour in. Scatter over the thyme, then bring to a simmer. Cover, then cook for 30 mins (or longer, see tip) until the chicken is tender, then season. Serve with steamed greens.

- In a 4 quart slow cooker, combine honey, soy sauce, mustard, malt vinegar, garlic and black pepper. Stir to combine all ingredients together well. Add the chicken and press chicken down to cover it in as much sauce as possible.
- Cook the chicken 4-5 hours on High or 6 hours on Low until the chicken is moist and tender.Stir the chicken about 2 times, if possible, during the cooking and push the chicken down so it's immersed in the sauce.
- Optional: to thicken the sauce (do this about 1 hour before chicken is finished cooking). Make the corn starch slurry: mix cornstarch and cold water in small bowl. Stir the mixture so that all the cornstarch is completely dissolved, leaving no lumps.Quickly stir in the cornstarch slurry into the crock pot teriyaki mixture and combine well so that the cornstarch doesn't thicken and become lumpy. Finish cooking for the final hour.
