- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. Cut each slice in half; place plain side down on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with garlic salt and Parmesan cheese. Broil 4 in. from the heat until lightly browned, 1-2 minutes.

- Set oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven's broiler. Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet.
- Toast in preheated oven until golden brown, 5 to 10 minutes.

- Preheat the broiler. Put the halved baguette on a baking sheet. Rub the cut sides with the garlic clove, then drizzle with the olive oil and spread the butter on evenly.
- Place the cut anchovies evenly on the bread and broil until brown and bubbly, about 4 minutes. Cut into 12 even pieces, crunch some salt over the top and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
CRISPY GARLIC TOAST

- 1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- 2. Combine olive oil and melted butter in a measuring cup. Place garlic cloves and water in a blender. Blend on medium speed, gradually adding butter mixture, until garlic is pureed.
- 3. Cut baguettes into 1/4 inch thick slices.
- 4. Arrange bread slices on ungreased baking sheets. Brush garlic butter generously onto one side of the bread slices. Sprinkle with sea salt or ground kosher salt.
- 5. Bake until crisp, 5-7 minutes.
MAKE-AHEAD GARLIC TOAST
I love this because I always have leftover bread and it goes to waste most of the time. The best part is that you can pull out as many pieces as you want and bake them straight from the freezer!

- Mix butter, Parmesan cheese, parsley, and garlic powder in a bowl. Arrange Italian bread on a large baking sheet and spread each slice with garlic butter mixture. Place baking sheet in freezer and freeze until bread solid, about 1 hour. Transfer bread to a resealable plastic freezer bag until ready to use.
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Arrange desired number of slices, butter-side up, on a baking sheet.

- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Slice the baguette diagonally into 1/4-inch-thick slices. Depending on the size of the baguette, you should get 20 to 25 slices.
- Lay the slices in one layer on a baking sheet, brush each with olive oil, and sprinkle generously with salt and pepper. Bake the toasts for 15 to 20 minutes, until they are browned and crisp. As soon as they are cool enough to handle, rub one side of the toasts with the cut side of the garlic. Serve at room temperature.
