KNOCK YOU NAKED BROWNIES

Haven't tried this one yet, but they sound great, and I just LOVE their name. Another one I found in the "King's Daughters Centennial Cookbook".

Steps:

  • Mix together the first 5 ingredients.
  • Pour half of this mixture into a greased 9x13 glass baking dish.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes.
  • Melt caramels with 1/2 cup evaporated milk.
  • Spread over baked brownie mix.
  • Layer coconut and chocolate chips over melted caramel mixture.
  • Pour remaining cake mixture over top of chocolate chips.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes.
  • Cut after completely cooled.

Steps:

  • Combine cake mix, nuts, 1/3 c milk and butter.
  • Press half of the batter into a greased 13x9 pan.
  • Bake 350 for 8 minutes.
  • In microwave melt caramels with 1/2 c milk - mix well.
  • Pour melted caramels over baked layer.
  • Cover the caramel layer with chocolate chips.
  • Pour remaining cake batter on top.
  • Bake 18 minutes (or less for gooier brownies).
  • Let cool and cut.

I'm not sure if this recipe originated with Loretta LaRoche, a humorist/stress management consultant, but it ends with her quote. In any case, it's the easiest, quickest, most heavenly chocolate delight you can imagine. (No bowl...almost no stir) Lock the door & turn on the oven, honey!

Knock You Naked Brownies image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix Bisquick, 1/2 cup sugar and 3 T. cocoa in a greased 8" x 8" glass baking dish. (I use a disposable aluminum pan sprayed with PAM.) Stir in the milk (or half & half) and vanilla until blended.
  • Sprinkle with the remaining 1/3 cup cocoa and 1/2 cup sugar. DO NOT STIR!
  • Sprinkle nuts over the top, if desired. Pour hot water over the top and DO NOT STIR!
  • Bake at 350 for about 40 minutes. The top will look and taste like a brownie, but underneath will be a YUMMERS rich hot chocolate sauce. If you serve it with vanilla ice cream, it's so good it'll Knock you Naked! (See why you locked the door?).

  • In a medium bowl, mix together cake mix and 1/3 cup of the evaporated milk. Add melted butter and chopped pecans and mix together. Mixture will be thick.
  • Divide dough in half and press one half into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake until just slightly set, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • Meanwhile, add the caramels and remaining evaporated milk to a double boiler. Cook, stirring occasionally, until caramels have melted and mixture is totally smooth. Pour caramel mixture over first brownie layer, making sure it’s evenly spread out. Top with chocolate chips.
