FARMER'S STRATA
For an inexpensive and easy-to-prepare dish, try this hearty casserole. You can assemble it ahead and bake it just before leaving for a potluck. People go back for seconds since it includes tasty basic ingredients like bacon, cheese and potatoes. -Pat Kuether, Westminster, Colorado

Steps:
- In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp; add ham and onion. Cook and stir until onion is tender; drain. , In a greased 13x9-in. baking dish, layer half the bread cubes, potatoes and cheese. Top with all of the bacon mixture. Repeat layers of bread, potatoes and cheese. , In a large bowl, beat the eggs; add the milk, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt and pepper. Pour over all. Cover and chill overnight. , Preheat oven to 325°. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Bake, uncovered, until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, 65-70 minutes.

I got this recipe off of Recipe Link posted by Gladys - and it is SO good and perfect for holiday or anytime! It was so nice to prepare this the night before and be able to just throw it in the oven Christmas morning! Everyone LOVED it!

Steps:
- The NIGHT BEFORE:.
- In large skillet, cook bacon until crisp.
- Drain off excess bacon fat, but keep a little in skillet in order to cook onion.
- Add onion, ham and chopped bacon to skillet and cook until onion is tender and transparent.
- Butter a large baking dish - I used a glass lasagna dish.
- Layer the bread to cover bottom of dish - will use probably 5-6 slices or half the amount of bread cubed.
- Add half of potatoes and cheese.
- Top with bacon, onion and ham mixture.
- Add remaining pieces of bread, potatoes and cheese.
- In large bowl, beat eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt and pepper.
- Pour this mixture evenly over the ingredients in baking dish.
- Cover and chill OVERNIGHT in the refrigerator.
- The NEXT MORNING:.
- Remove strata from the refrigerator and bring to room temp (about 30 minutes prior to baking).
- Preheat oven to 325°F.
- Bake uncovered for 1 hour or when knife is inserted near center and comes out clean.

FARMHOUSE STRATA
I usually serve this for Christmas day or New Years day brunch. Must set 8 hours or overnight. I serve this with my Party Potatoes & sometimes with a roasted beef tenderloin if you really want to impress someone.

Steps:
- Cook sausage until browned, crumble into small chunks.
- Combine eggs & next 6 ingredients, mix well with whisk.
- Stir in sausage, green onion & bread cubes.
- Pour mixture into a 11x7x1 1/2" deep baking dish that has been coated with cooking spray.
- Cover & chill at least 8 hours or overnight.
- Bake uncovered at 350* for 45 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Cut into squares & serve with sliced tomatoes on top.
