Nifs Easy Baking Powder Dumplings Crock Pot Or Stove Top Recipes
NIF'S EASY BAKING POWDER DUMPLINGS (CROCK POT OR STOVE TOP)
This is what my Mom used to make when we were kids. They are super easy to make and are great made on stew, roast or soup. They would probably work on casseroles if there is enough liquid but I haven't tried that yet. Add whatever herbs you think will compliment your main dish. Enjoy!

Steps:
- Mix flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Stir in egg, milk and parsley.
- Drop by spoonfuls on top of simmering liquids (not boiling or they will fall apart) and COVER.
- Check to see if dumplings are set after approximately 15 - 30 minutes. After they are set, they should be fine on dish for about 2 hours.

Steps:
- Mix dry ingredients.
- Add milk and egg and stir to make soft dough.
- Add 3 quarts of water to a large pot or Dutch oven.
- Put 1 tsp salt and 1 Tbsp oil in water and bring to boil.
- Drop dough by tablespoonful into boiling water.
- Boil five minutes on one side.
- Turn and boil another five minutes.
- Remove from water.

- Place the chicken, butter, soups, broth, seasoning and onion in a slow cooker, and fill with enough water to cover.
- Cover, and cook for 5 to 6 hours on High. About 30 minutes before serving, remove the chicken breasts and shred on a plate. Return to the slow cooker.
- Heavily flour your work surface. Take the biscuits out of the containers and roll them out into thinner pieces on the flour. Cut into strips 1/2 inch wide and place in the slow cooker, making sure that the dough is submerged in the liquids to cook. Cook until the dough is no longer raw in the center, around 30-40 minutes.
