One-Pot Sticky Chicken Wings Recipe - (4.3/5) image

Steps:

  • In a very large nonstick skillet (or in batches), cook the chicken wings over moderate heat, turning once, until golden, about 8 minutes. Add the ginger, chiles, star anise and cinnamon and cook over moderately low heat, stirring, until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the soy sauce, sake, oyster sauce, mirin, sugar and 1/3 cup of water and bring to a simmer over moderate heat. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Uncover and cook over moderately high heat, stirring occasionally, until the wings are cooked through and the sauce has reduced to a thick glaze, about 8 minutes. Discard the chiles, star anise and cinnamon. Transfer the chicken wings to a platter, scatter the scallions on top and serve.

3 pounds chicken wings, wing tips removed and wings cut into 2 pieces
2 tablespoons fresh ginger, minced

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Season the chicken wings and toss in a little sesame oil in a baking tray. Cook for 30 mins. Mix the oregano, lemon zest, lemon juice, toasted sesame seeds and honey. Paint the mixture all over the wings and return to the oven for 20 mins, turning and painting halfway through cooking. Serve alongside a bowl of yogurt swirled with harissa paste, and a few lemon wedges.

Steps:

  • Press the SAUTE button on your Instant Pot. Add honey, ketchup, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce and salt and pepper to the pot and mix together. Bring sauce to a boil while stirring and simmer for a few minutes until sauce slightly thickens.
  • Add 1/2 cup of water and stir.
  • Pour in your frozen popcorn chicken. Toss the chicken in the sauce so that all the chicken is covered.
  • Put your lid on the pot and put the VALVE on sealing (not venting).
  • Press the CANCEL button to turn off the saute, then press MANUAL (or PRESSURE COOK) and set timer for 7 minutes.
  • Once the chicken is done cooking, do a QUICK RELEASE of the pressure.
  • Stir chicken with the sauce and then serve hot over rice.
  • Garnish with green onion and sesame seeds.
