- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Beat butter, white sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer in a large bowl until smooth. Stir egg white and applesauce into butter mixture until just combined into a dough. Add orange juice with pulp and orange zest to the dough; stir.
- Mix flour, oats, walnuts, baking soda, cream of tartar, and cinnamon in a separate bowl; fold into the dough until evenly incorporated.
- Drop by heaping tablespoon onto prepared baking sheets.
- Bake in preheated oven until bottom of cookies are lightly browned, 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on baking sheets 2 to 3 minutes before moving to wire racks to cool completely.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a medium bowl, cream together the shortening, white sugar, brown sugar and honey until light and fluffy. Stir in the milk and vanilla. Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt, stir into the creamed mixture. Then stir in the coconut, oats, dates and pecans.
- Drop dough by rounded teaspoons onto unprepared cookie sheets. Bake for 11 to 12 minutes for soft cookies, 13 to 14 minutes for crispy cookies. Remove cookies from baking sheets to cool on wire racks.

- In large bowl of mixer, cream butter and sugar until fluffy; beat in egg, orange zest and juice.
- Gradually beat in flour, baking powder, soda, salt and nutmeg until mixed.
- Add oats (I used quick-cooking oats, but I think that old-fashioned or rolled oats would improve the texture.).
- Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheets.
- Bake in 350° oven until golden around edges.

- In a bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, salt, and oats.
- In a bigger bowl, combine the sugar, butter, shortening, orange juice, zest, and eggs; mix well.

- Drop the dough onto the cookie sheets using two tablespoons or a small ice cream scoop.
