SLOW-COOKER POTLUCK BEANS

Slow-Cooker Potluck Beans image

Steps:

In a greased 3- or 4-qt. slow cooker, mix first 4 ingredients. Rinse and drain beans; stir into coffee mixture. Cook, covered, on low until flavors are blended, 4-5 hours. Freeze option: Freeze cooled beans in freezer containers. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Heat through in a covered saucepan, stirring occasionally; add water if necessary.

Steps:

1. In a slow cooker, combine the first 10 ingredients; mix well. Add the beans and peas; mix well. Cover and cook on low for 5 - 7 hours or until onions and peppers are tender. Remove bay leaves. I have done these in the oven also..delicious!

1 1/2 c ketchup
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 medium red pepper, chopped
1/2 c water
1/2 c packed brown sugar
2 bay leaves
2 to 3 tsp cider vinegar
1 tsp ground mustard
1/8 tsp pepper
1 can(s) ( 16 ounce) kidney beans. rinsed and drained
1 can(s) ( 15 1/2 ounces) great northern beans, rinsed and drained
1 can(s) ( 15 ounces) lima beans, rinsed and drained
1 can(s) ( 15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
1 can(s) ( 15 1/2 ounces) black eyes peas, rinsed and drained. i sometimes substitute a can of garbanzo beans

Steps:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crisp. Drain, crumble, and set aside. In the same skillet, cook and crumble the ground round until evenly browned. Drain.
In a large deep casserole dish or Dutch oven, combine the bacon, beef, baked beans, white beans, and butter beans. Stir in the brown sugar, barbeque sauce, and onion soup mix until well blended.
Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour in the preheated oven.

Steps:

Drain soaking liquid from beans, and place them in a Slow Cooker.
Stir ketchup, water, molasses, onion, mustard, salt, bacon, and brown sugar into the beans until well mixed.
Cover, and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours, stirring occasionally if possible, though not necessary.
