How to Cook Quinoa image

Steps:

  • Combine quinoa, 1 1/2 cups water, and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer, then cover and cook over low heat until tender, about 15 minutes. Remove from heat; let stand, covered, 10 minutes. Fluff with a fork. Use immediately, or spread on a rimmed baking sheet to let cool.

1 cup quinoa, rinsed and drained several times
Pinch of kosher salt

PLAIN QUINOA

Steps:

  • Bring 2 cups water to a boil in 2 quart sauce pan.
  • Add 1 cup Toasted Quinoa and return to boil, cover and cook over medium heat for 12 to 15 minutes or until Quinoa has absorbed all the water.
  • Remove from heat and fluff, cover and let stand for 15 minutes.

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the quinoa, and toast, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Stir in broth, and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook for 15 minutes, or until quinoa is tender.
  • In a bowl, toss quinoa together with garlic, parsley, thyme, salt, and onion. Sprinkle with lemon juice, and serve.
