Steps:

• Combine the tequila, lime juice and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice. (To make a batch of simple syrup, simmer equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves, then cool.) Shake well, then strain into a chilled martini glass; salt the rim, if desired. Garnish with mint.

• Pour salt onto a plate or shallow dish. With a lime wedge rub along the rim of a glass and dip glasses upside down to salt the rim. Fill glasses with ice. • Add margarita mix, pomegranate juice, and tequila.
• Wet the rim of a chilled martini glass with water an dip rim in salt (optional).
• Cover cocktail shaker and shake tequila mixture vigorously.
• Carefully strain into martini glass.
• Garnish with lime slice.
