ROSEMARY GARLIC BRAID
This moist savory bread pairs nicely with a variety of main dishes. It's great with soup...and makes a wonderful grilled ham and cheese sandwich. I came up with the recipe a few years ago when I wanted to use up the fresh rosemary in my garden. -Cori Oakley, Traverse City, Michigan

ROSEMARY GARLIC BRAID OR BREAD
Moist savory bread pairs nicely with any main dish. This was so good, I decided to try making it as a loaf, for sandwiches, rather than braiding it. Oh, so good!

Steps:
- Put the garlic, rosemary, and olive oil in a small skillet and heat slowly until the oil just begins to simmer. Turn the cloves over in the oil and saute for 10 minutes longer. Remove from the flame and let cool for 15 minutes.
- Remove the garlic cloves from the oil (reserve the oil) and mash them to a paste with a knife or mortar and pestle. Take the leaves off the rosemary sprig and finely mince them. In a bowl, combine the garlic paste, minced rosemary, and butter and stir until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cut the baguettes in half lengthwise. Spread the cut sides with the seasoned butter and drizzle with a little of the oil used to bake the garlic. Sprinkle with the Parmesan, close the baguettes back up and wrap each in aluminum foil. Cook over medium heat on the grill or in a bed of slow coals for 10 to 15 minutes. Cut into 2-inch-wide slices and serve immediately.

- Add all of the ingredients to a mixing bowl and stir together. The dough will be sticky, shaggy and a hot mess. That's okay, it's supposed to be that way.
- Lay out a piece of parchment paper and dust it with flour. Transfer the dough from the bowl to the paper and behind shaping it. You'll want to stretch out each side and fold it over and work around until you have it in the shape of a ball. (Don't worry you can't mess this up).
- Place the dutch oven in the oven (I didn't include the lid). Preheat your oven to 450F and let it come to temperature. Your bread will rise while your dutch oven heats up.
- Using oven mitts, take the dutch oven out of your oven and place it on top of the stove. Lift the bread using the parchment paper and transfer it to the dutch oven. Score the bread to let steam escape while it bakes. I just did a simple slash down the center with a knife, but you can make it pretty with designs if you'd like.

- To make the dough, in a small bowl or 2 cup measuring cup place water and sprinkle yeast on surface, allowing it to stand for three minutes before whisking.
- After dissolved, whisk in the olive oil. To mix dough in a full-sized food processor, place 2 3/4 cup all-purpose flour and 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour, garlic, rosemary, and salt in bowl of the food processor fitted with a dough blade.
- Add water, oil, and yeast mixture and process to form a smooth, elastic and slightly sticky dough, about 45 seconds. Incorporate the remaining 1/4 cup all-purpose flour a tablespoon at a time if the dough is too soft.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl and turn dough over so top is oiled. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and allow dough to rise at room temperature until doubled.
