Steps:

  • 1. Bring water to a boil.
  • 2. Add sugar, turmeric, margarine, cinnamon stick, raisins, and lemon slice, stirring well.
  • 3. Add rice and cover. Simmer for approximately 20 minutes, stirring occasionally until all liquid is absorbed and rice is tender.
  • 4. Remove cinnamon stick and lemon slice. Serve immediately.
