State Fair Fried Oreo Cookies Recipes
DEEP FRIED OREOS®
This is a carnival favorite where I grew up. Oreos get dipped into pancake batter and fried - yummy!! You can do this with or without a deep fryer.

Steps:
- Heat oil in deep-fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Whisk together the egg, milk, and 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil in a bowl until smooth. Stir in the pancake mix until no dry lumps remain. Dip the cookies into the batter one at a time, and carefully place into the hot frying oil. Fry only 4 or 5 at a time to avoid overcrowding the deep fryer. Cook until the cookies are golden-brown, about 2 minutes. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate before serving.

I caught the tail in of food network talking about fried oreo cookies being served at the fair so I went on line and found the recipe. I have not tried it yet but if you do let me know how you like it. I am going to try it when my grandson comes to visit me during spring break. As for the size of bag of cookie all it says was a large bag I did not know the correct size so I guessed

- combine pancake mix,milk,eggs, and oil.
- mix until there is no lumps.
- dip oreos into batter and coat both sides.
- put in fryer and fry until golden. The cookies will cook fast so watch closely and turn them. Remove from grease and sprinkle with confectioner sugar if you want to. The directions say they are best eaten hot.

- Grab a couple of mixing bowls. In one, whisk together all of the dry ingredients – except the powdered sugar. In the other, whisk together the wet.
- Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet ingredients. Stir together well, getting out as many lumps as you can.
- Bring a few inches of oil to 350°F in a deep pot or deep skillet with high sides. Test the temperature by dipping your fork into the batter, then sticking it into the oil. It should start bubbling rapidly after a second or so. If it starts bubbling immediately it’s too hot. No or slow bubbling = too cold.
- Skewer an Oreo on a dinner fork and dip it into the batter. Rotate it slowly so the excess batter falls off and the Oreo is coated evenly.
