CRESCENT TURKEY CASSEROLE

How do you make a dinner of turkey and vegetables really appealing to kids? You turn it into a pie, of course! My version tastes classic, but won't take much time at all. -Daniela Essman, Perham, Minnesota

Crescent Turkey Casserole image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. In a saucepan, mix first 4 ingredients until smooth; gradually stir in milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat; cook and stir until thickened, about 2 minutes. Add vegetables and turkey; cook and stir until heated through. Transfer to a greased 8-in. square baking pan. , Unroll crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles; arrange over turkey mixture. Bake until casserole is heated through and topping is golden brown, 15-20 minutes.

  • In a nonstick skillet, saute celery and onion in butter for 3-4 minutes or until tender. Add turkey and soup; mix well. Remove from the heat., Separate crescent dough into 24 triangles. Place 1 tablespoon turkey mixture on the wide end of each triangle; roll up from wide end. Place pointed side down 2 in. apart on greased baking sheets. Curve ends to form crescent shape. Sprinkle with dill. , Bake at 350° for 8-9 minutes or until golden brown. Serve immediately.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine turkey, cream cheese, and milk. Mix until well blended.
  • Perforate crescent rolls in twos. Close perforations with fingers to form four rectangles.
  • Divide turkey mixture into 4 portion. Spoon onto dough.
  • Pull four corners toward center and close sides by pressing together.

Steps:

  • In a large non-stick skillet, saute celery and onion in margarine for 3-4 minutes or until tender.
  • Add turkey, soup, salt and pepper to taste; stir to mix well and until heated through.
  • Take skillet off of heat and set aside.
  • Separate crescent dough into 24 triangles.
  • Spoon 1 tablspoon turkey mixture on the wide end of each triangle.
  • Roll up starting at the wide end.
  • Place rolls, point side down, on greased baking sheets.
  • Curve ends inward to form crescent shape.
  • Sprinkle lightly with dill or other topping of choice.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 8-9 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Serve while warm.
