Steps:

  • In skillet brown venison or hamburger with onions. In 2 quart baking dish add ½ of meat mixture and 1/2 of macaroni, pizza sauce, mushrooms, cheese and repeat layers. Top with cheese. Bake at 350 until heated and cheese is bubbly and brown. I sauteed fresh mushrooms with salt and pepper. I also added pepperonis (one layer) on top. I used cheddar jack for the cheese

8 oz elbow macaroni (cooked)
1 pound ground venison or hamburger
1 can mushrooms (sliced) or fresh sauteed
1 small onion (chopped)
15 oz pizza sauce
Salt and pepper
Shredded Mozzarella cheese or cheddar
Pepperoni

  • Cook macaroni according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook the venison, salt and pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain if necessary. Drain the macaroni; place half in a greased 2-qt. baking dish. Top with half of the venison, pizza sauce, mushrooms and cheese. Repeat layers. Cover and bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Uncover; bake 10 minutes longer or until heated through and cheese is melted.

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Combine stuffing mix, hot water, and 4 tablespoons butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high until heated through, 5 to 6 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
  • At the same time, heat a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir venison in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Remove venison to a plate.
  • Add remaining 4 tablespoons butter to the skillet along with zucchini, squash, mushrooms, garlic, salt, and pepper. Cook and stir until vegetables are soft, about 10 minutes. Stir in condensed soup, sour cream, and cooked venison.
  • Remove from the heat and top with cornbread stuffing.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until heated through, 20 to 30 minutes.
