BAKED CINNAMON APPLES
Delicious apple slices baked in warm cinnamon goodness. It does not get more comforting than this! My grandma baked this all the time when I was little and I've been craving it ever since until I found this recipe.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Layer apple slices in the bottom of an 8-inch glass baking dish.
- Mix water, butter, flour, and cornstarch together in a bowl until no lumps remain. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt until smooth. Pour apples in the baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven, stirring every 10 to 15 minutes, until soft and juicy, about 45 minutes.

- Place apples in a microwave-safe bowl; heat in microwave for 30 seconds. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over apples and stir to coat. Heat apples in microwave until soft and warm, about 1 minute more.

Steps:
- Peel/core apples and cut into thick slices.
- Toss together the apples, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg either in a bowl or put in a zippered plastic bag and shake until coated.
- Cook apple mixture, 2 tbls. of water and 1 tbls. of butter in a medium sized saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes or until apples are tender - but not mushy.
- Serve just as is or top with vanilla ice cream or whipped topping.
HOT BAKED CINNAMON APPLES
These cinnamon apples taste like a cobbler or pie without the crust. I was looking for a recipe for Cinnamon apples and all I could find were recipes for baking the whole apple - not what I wanted. After much searching I finally came across this recipe - I unfortunately cannot remember the site. It can easily be reduced to 2 or 3 apples, just watch it as it cooks. We serve this over ice cream and it is delicious. It can also be used on pancakes, waffles, or all by itself.

- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Place cut and peeled apples in a mixing bowl and gently mix all the ingredients together.
- Put apples in a non-stick pan; cover and place in the oven.
- Bake for 45 minutes, stirring at least once every 15 minutes.
- Once they are soft, cook for another few minutes to thicken the cinnamon sauce.
- I like to put everything into my baking dish and then mix it since there is less to clean up.

- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F ( 190 degrees C).
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the apples, water, cinnamon, cornstarch and fructose. Cook until apples are soft and mixture is thickened, about 10 minutes.
- Pour the apple mixture into a casserole dish.
- Prepare biscuit dough by combining the whole-wheat pastry flour and baking powder. Add the oil and stir until well mixed. Add the honey and buttermilk; stir with a fork until flour mixture is moist. Add additional milk if necessary.
- Drop biscuit dough by tablespoons on top of apples. Bake for 20 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown. Serve warm.

- SAUTE: Heat on the saute setting. Add the butter and allow it to melt. Saute the apples in butter for 1 minute. Add cinnamon, sugar, salt, lemon juice and sauté for another 30 seconds.
- PRESSURE COOK: Add ¼ cup water, cover and cook on high pressure for 0 minute (yes, zero minutes!) Do a quick release and add the cornstarch slurry on the sauté setting until the juices thicken! Serve warm with vanilla ice cream on the side.
- FOR STOVETOP: Follow instructions in step one. Add 1/3 cup water and allow the apples to cook for roughly 2-3 minutes. Test the apples for doneness, you may need to cook them longer so that they soften. Then, add the cornstarch slurry and stir to combine. When thickened, it's ready to serve.
