MEAT LOAF BURGERS

Steps:
- Place onion and celery in a 3-qt. slow cooker. Combine the beef, 1 teaspoon salt and pepper; shape into 6 patties. Place over onion mixture. Combine the tomato juice, garlic, ketchup, Italian seasoning, bay leaf and remaining salt. Pour over the patties. , Cover and cook on low for 7-9 hours or until meat is no longer pink. Discard bay leaf. Separate patties with a spatula if necessary; serve on buns.

CHEESEBURGER MEATLOAF
This meatloaf is extremely juicy, and the potential variety of different flavors is as big as your imagination. I've done American cheese with ketchup and mustard on top and served with dill pickle chips. Another one might be Swiss cheese and mushroom topping.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, combine the beef, bread crumbs, onion, eggs, salt and pepper, and mix well. Pat out meat mixture into a 14x18 inch rectangle on a piece of wax paper. Spread cheese over the meat, leaving a 3/4 inch border around the edges. Roll up jelly roll fashion to enclose the filling and form a pinwheel loaf. Press beef in on both ends to enclose the cheese. Place in a 10x15 inch baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven 1 hour, or until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

Steps:
- Stir together first 10 ingredients in a large bowl just until combined. Place in a 9- x 5-inch loafpan.
- Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes. Pour chili sauce over meat loaf, and bake 20 to 25 more minutes or until meat is no longer pink in center.
- If you are using bacon, place on meatloaf then arrange cheese slices in a crisscross pattern on top of meat loaf. Let stand 10 minutes before slicing.

ACADIA'S (MEATLOAF STYLE) CHEESEBURGERS
I have been making burgers this way for almost 30 years. They are flavorful delicious burger renditions, and I haven't found any that are as tasty. I sometimes double the recipe and freeze the pre-cooked burgers in individual plastic bags.

Steps:
- In skillet saute sliced onion in butter until translucent. (Set aside).
- Mix ground beef, barbecue sauce, mustard, bread crumbs and garlic salt together until well blended.
- I use a food scale to make twelve 5-ounce burgers.
- After the burgers are formed, use your index finger to press a depression in the burger so it keeps its shape when grilling.
- For medium rare burgers grill on high heat for 5-6 minutes on each side or (until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F for well done.).
- Turn grill off.
- Top burgers with cheese and close grill lid so cheese melts and clings to burger for 1-2 minutes.
- Warm up onions in skillet for 1-2 minutes or in microwave for 30 seconds.
- Place cheeseburgers on buns and top with sauteed onions.
- Enjoy! Yum!
