CREAM CHEESE APPLE BREAD

This is from a free cooking school booklet. This is made with Splenda but you could probably subsitute with no problems. I haven't made this, but it looks tasty. I catorgized this as a diabetic recipe. If it isn't, please let me know.

Cream Cheese Apple Bread image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Spray a loaf pan with nonstick spray.
  • Cream butter and Splenda brown sugar blend together until smooth.
  • Beat in eggs, applesauce, orange extract and vanilla.
  • Set aside.
  • In a seperate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and allspice.
  • Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and blend until smooth.
  • Stir in raisins and nuts, if using.
  • Set aside.
  • Blend together the cream cheese, Splenda brown sugar blend, flour and orage extract.
  • Pour half of the bread batter into the prepared pan.
  • Spoon the cream cheese mixture on top.
  • Cover with the remaining bread batter.
  • Bake 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Apples & Cheese Spoon Bread image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • In a medium skillet, cook onion in hot butter about 5 minutes or until just tender.
  • In a large bowl stir together corn muffin mix, egg, water, applesauce, sour cream, cheddar cheese, snipped sage leaves, and a few dashes pepper.
  • Stir in onion mixture.
  • Pour mixture into a 2-quart square baking dish.
  • Bake at 375 for 25 minutes. Brush apple slices with melted butter and arrange on top of spoon bread in a pleasing pattern.
  • Continue baking 25 to 30 minutes more or until spoon bread is golden brown across the top.
  • Let cool in pan on a wire rack for 15 minutes before serving; spoonbread may sink slightly in center while cooking.
  • Sprinkle on sage leaves before serving.

Pure comfort food! Wonderful addition to a large breakfast or brunch. Delicious anytime. Best when served warm. Note the recipe calls for sharp cheddar but medium or mild cheddar could be used. Do not use American cheese or processed cheese food, such as Velveeta, because they will not work in this recipe.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Grease and flour a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan or spray it with cooking spray.
  • In large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.
  • Add beaten eggs, milk and margarine; mix well.
  • Stir in cheese, apples and pecans.
  • Mixture will be fairly thick; spoon into loaf pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 60- 70 minutes or until it tests done with wooden pick inserted in center.
  • Remove from oven and let stand for about 5 minutes.
  • Invert and remove loaf from pan.

Apple Cheese Quick Bread image

Steps:

  • In a large bowl cream together the butter and the sugar and beat in the honey and the eggs. Into the butter mixture sift together the flours, the baking powder, the baking soda, and the salt, stir the mixture until it is combined well, and stir in the apples, the cheese, and the walnuts. Spoon the batter into a buttered loaf pan, 9 by 5 by 3 inches, and bake it in the middle of a preheated 350°F. oven for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a tester comes out clean. Turn the bread out onto a rack, and let if cool completely, and serve it sliced with the cream cheese.

1 stick (1/2) unsalted butter, softened

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine the sugar, flour, cinnamon walnuts, apples, and cheese. Add the eggs, melted butter or margarine, and milk; stir until well blended. Pour into prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour, or until done. If loaf starts to brown too much, cover with foil.
