Steps:
- Make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich as you would normally, using the French bread, peanut butter and Strawberry Compote.
- In a small bowl, combine the egg, milk, cinnamon and nutmeg to make your French toast batter. Dip the sandwich in the batter for about 10 seconds on each side, then coat the battered sandwich with the crushed cereal.
- Heat the clarified butter in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the sandwich on each side until it's a nice golden brown! Cut in half, dust with powdered sugar, and serve with a spoonful of Strawberry Compote on the side.
- Combine the strawberries, sugar, lemon juice and salt in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently (to prevent burning), until thick, 10 to 15 minutes. Serve warm or keep in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 5 days.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 8-by-4-inch loaf pan with butter and line the bottom and 2 sides with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In a large bowl, cream together the granulated sugar and eggs. Stir in the mashed bananas, oil and vanilla. Stir in the flour mixture a third at a time and mix until just combined. Remove 1 cup batter to a separate bowl and stir in the strawberry preserves and half of the freeze-dried strawberries.

- Mix together the confectioners' sugar, lemon juice and remaining freeze-dried strawberries in a small bowl. Drizzle the mixture over top of the banana bread before serving.
STRAWBERRY-BANANA COMPOTE
Fruit and butter with a little bit of brown sugar. Heat until it smells magical. That's it. You can add bourbon as well, for a hit of smokiness (the alcohol will cook off) that pairs well with French-toast brunches. Or let the mixture cool, then store in the refrigerator, and combine it later with thick Greek yogurt. One note: If you don't like the color of the compote, for the heating will pull some from the fruit, add a spoonful of strawberry preserves as a kind of blusher.

THE BEST BANANA BREAD
The batter for this easy-to-make banana bread is enriched with sour cream, which gives it a subtle tang and super moist texture. In order to avoid this quick bread becoming tough and chewy, don't overmix the batter.

- Preheat oven to 350F. Spray one 9×5-inch loaf pan with floured cooking spray, or grease and flour the pan; set aside. Note – Loaf is not very tall as baked in a 9×5 pan, but I fear an 8×4 pan will be a bit too skimpy.
- Add 1 1/4 cups flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and fold with spatula or stir gently with a spoon until just combined; don’t overmix.
