Banana-Nutmeg Smoothie image

Steps:

  • In a blender, combine bananas, broken into pieces, with milk, and puree until smooth.
  • Add to the fruit mixture yogurt, ice cubes, and nutmeg, and blend until the ice is finely crushed and the drink is frothy. Serve immediately.

3 bananas, ripe but firm, broken into pieces
1/2 cup whole milk
1 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt
1 cup ice cubes
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

BANANA NUTMEG SMOOTHIE

This makes a great smoothie. If you can, use freshly grated nutmeg, there is absolutely no comparison between commercially grated nutmeg and the freshly grated stuff! This makes a great breakfast if you top it with some granola.

Steps:

  • Put the banana, yogurt, dates and nutmeg into a blender. Blend on high until the mixture is mostly smooth, about 1 minute. Add the ice cubes and blend until completely smooth. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of cold water if needed to adjust consistency.

1/2 firm (slightly under-ripe) medium banana
1/3 cup lowfat plain yogurt
3 Medjool dates, halved and pitted
Large pinch freshly grated nutmeg
1 cup ice cubes
