Bloody Mary Chili image

Steps:

  • For serving: celery sticks, carrot sticks, ranch dressing and tortilla chips
  • In a large pot over medium heat, add some olive oil and saute the celery and onions until soft. Add the garlic and stir, then add the ground beef. Cook until browned, 5 to 10 minutes; drain off the excess fat. Stir in the chili powder, cumin and oregano.
  • In a pitcher, mix up the Bloody Mary mix, vodka if using, Montreal steak seasoning, Tabasco and Worcestershire and add it to the pot. Add the kidney and pinto beans, stir together well, cover and then reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Add more Bloody Mary mix or water if needed during simmering.
  • Serve with celery and carrot sticks, ranch dressing and tortilla chips.

2 stalks celery, finely diced
1 onion, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, chopped
3 pounds ground beef
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground oregano
15 ounces Bloody Mary mix, plus more if needed
1/4 cup vodka, optional
1 tablespoon Montreal steak seasoning
Several dashes Tabasco, or to taste
Several dashes Worcestershire sauce, or to taste
One 15-ounce can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
One 15-ounce can pinto beans, drained and rinsed

Classic Bloody Mary image

Steps:

  • Salt the rim of a tall glass. To do so, pour salt onto a small plate, moisten the rim of the glass on a damp towel and press into the salt. Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  • In a cocktail mixer full of ice, combine the vodka, vegetable juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, salt and pepper. Shake vigorously and strain into the glass. Garnish with a stalk of celery and olives stuck onto a toothpick.

I was making "My Famous Chili" yesterday and decided to kick it up a notch. Since the chili recipe has most of the ingredients of a bloody Mary..I dicided to add a new twist to my chili recipe..I hope you like it and if you don't like it this way just omit the vodka and red wine and it will still taste swell. Steps:

  • In a large soup kettle over medium heat, add the cooking oil and then the onion,celery,green pepper and ground beef cooking and scrambling the meat until no longer pink.-If there is any grease-spoon it off and discard it.
  • Add the horseradish, tabasco, wotcestershire, and chili mix dry from the package. Stir to combine and mix well.
  • Add the diced tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, tomato juice and lime zest and juice.Stir to blend together.Bring mixture to a boil then turn down to a simmer and simmer 10 minutes. Add the red wine and vodka and simmer 5 minutes more.Stir occasionally. Garnish each serving with fresh chopped tomatoes and celery stalk or dill pickle spear..Enjoy!

VEGETARIAN BLOODY MARY BEAN CHILI

This recipe is a great way to use up ingredients in your fridge, including Bloody Mary mix. Feel free to throw in other random veggies you may have in your fridge. I enjoy serving with diced red onion, shredded Cheddar cheese, and sour cream.

Vegetarian Bloody Mary Bean Chili image

Steps:

  • Combine black beans, kidney beans, and pinto beans in a large bowl and cover with fresh water; soak for at least 15 minutes.
  • Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-low heat. Add mushrooms, onion, bell peppers, and banana pepper. Cook until they sweat their juices and are slightly tender, 5 to 7 minutes. Add garlic; cook 2 to 3 minutes more.
  • Drain beans and add to the pot with the vegetables. Add crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, Bloody Mary mix, and tomato paste. Add chili powder, salt, oregano, sugar, black pepper, cumin, and cayenne pepper.
  • Simmer over medium-low to medium heat, uncovered, until as thick as desired, about 1 1/2 hours.

  • In a large dutch oven, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the celery, onion, and bell pepper. Cook until tender. Add the ground beef and cook until cooked through. Drain excess grease away.
  • Return the mixture to the pot and over medium heat, add the garlic. Cook 1 minute. Add in the tomatoes with the the juice, the bloody mary mix, beans, chili powder, cumin, and smoked paprika. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cover and simmer for 1 hour - stirring occasionally. When ready to serve, stir in the horseradish. Serve topped grated cheddar cheese, sour cream, green onions, or your other favorite chili toppings.
