BUT THEY LOOK LIKE HAMBURGERS!

I made these for my daughters birthday a few years ago and they were a big hit. They take a bit more effort than the recipes that call for vanilla wafers and chocolate candy, but they are worth it. Recipe is from Taste of Home magazine

Steps:

  • Combine cookie mix, eggs, oil, and water; mix well.
  • Stir in peanut butter or butterscotch chips.
  • Shape into 1-1/4 inch balls; place 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 9 to 11 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Remove to wire racks to cool.
  • For topping, mix together coconut and food coloring in a plastic "ziplock"-type baggie; knead through baggie until until all coconut is green.
  • For filling, mix together all filling ingredients in a mixing bowl; beat until smooth.
  • Frost the bottoms of 1/2 of the cookies; sprinkle with colored coconut.
  • Top with remaining cookies and gently squeeze together.

1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon water
1 (10 ounce) package peanut butter chips or 1 (10 ounce) package butterscotch chips
3/4 cup flaked coconut
5 -6 drops green food coloring
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened
2 2/3 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup baking cocoa
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

The Best Hamburger Recipe (and amazing secret sauce) image

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, shredded cheese, bbq sauce, and seasonings. Don't add too much bbq sauce or the patties will have a hard time taking shape. Shape patties that are about 1 inch thick (about 5 patties). (You can also freeze the patties after shaping them for about 1 hour to help them hold their shape.)
  • Turn grill up to high and let it get hot.
  • Reduce heat to medium-high and place the burgers on the grill. Allow this side of the patty to cook for about 4-6 minutes, but make sure it does not burn. Then flip the burger over and cook until done.
  • For the sauce, combine all sauce ingredients and whisk until well mixed. Taste and adjust ingredients to your liking.
  • Assemble the burgers and serve with the special sauce and other hamburger toppings of choice.

  • In a food processor place ground beef, salt, and water. Process for a few seconds so water and salt are blended through ground beef and meat should look a little pasty.
  • On an 11" x 13" jelly roll pan place plastic wrap on the bottom. Place hamburger in middle and with another piece of plastic wrap on top of the meat. Roll hamburger out to 1/4" thick.
  • Remove plastic wrap and cut meat into 3" x 3" squares, leave ground beef pieces on the tray. You should get between 12 and 14 squares.
  • Perforate each piece five times with the end of a plastic straw, this will give the meat little steam holes. Cover hamburger with plastic wrap and place in the freezer until the meat is partially frozen but not solid.
