APPLE BROWNIES

This was my Mom's recipe. Easy and quick to make. Apples and walnuts are packed into a cinnamon spiced blonde brownie. Always a hit when I bring it to parties. Very moist and great to make in the fall when apples are plentiful.

Apple Brownies image

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, beat together the melted butter, sugar, and egg until fluffy. Fold in the apples and walnuts. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Stir the flour mixture into the wet mixture until just blended. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake 35 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

3 medium apples - peeled, cored and thinly sliced
½ cup chopped walnuts
1 cup all-purpose flour

Steps:

  • Combine brownie mix with the oil, water, and eggs.
  • Pour into a greased 13x9 inch pan and bake for 25-35 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.
  • Cool completely.
  • Combine softened cream cheese with 1/4 cup of the caramel dessert topping.
  • Spread cream cheese/caramel mixture over cooled brownies.
  • Sprinkle chopped apples, peanut butter cups, and peanuts over the cream cheese/caramel mixture.
  • Drizzle remaining caramel dessert topping over the dessert.
  • Slice into squares.
  • Refridgerate left-overs.

Dense and moist, this decadent pie is a chocolate lovers dream! It's rich in chocolate flavor. There is gooey caramel and slices of warm apples in every bite. We can see why Nancy won first place at her county festival. This is a delicious pie.

Caramel Apple Walnut Brownie Pie image

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9-inch pie plate with baking spray. Set aside.
  • 2. In large bowl of an electric mixer, beat butter until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating until and fluffy.
  • 3. Add melted chocolate and eggs, beat until incorporated.
  • 4. Add in flour and salt. Slowly add in milk and vanilla,. Beat incorporating into mixture.
  • 5. With a wooden spoon, fold in thinly sliced apple, 1/3 cup caramel topping, and 1/2 cup chopped walnuts.
  • 6. Pour mixture into prepared pie plate. Bake 40-45 minutes, or until when a toothpick inserted in pie comes out clean. Cool slightly.
  • 7. For topping: Arrange slices of small apple on top of pie, fanning out, and sprinkle 1/2 cup chopped walnuts over top. Pour 1/3 cup caramel topping over apple slices and top of pie.

1 1/2 c sugar
3 1 oz each, unsweetened baking chocolate, melted (3 oz total)
3 eggs, lightly beaten
3/4 c all-purpose unbleached flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 c milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 medium red delicious apple, peeled, cored amd thinly sliced
1/3 c caramel topping
1/2 c chopped walnuts
TOPPING INGREDIENTS
1 small red delicious apple, cored and sliced
1/2 c chopped walnuts
1/3 c caramel topping

Caramel Apple Martini image

Steps:

  • In small microwavable bowl, microwave Caramel ingredients on High 40 to 60 seconds or just until it begins to boil. Dip each apple slice into caramel; sprinkle each with 1/2 tablespoon peanuts. Set aside. Cool remaining caramel slightly.
  • Spoon cooled caramel into each of 2 martini glasses. Place glasses in freezer while making martinis.
  • In martini shaker, place schnapps, liqueur and vodka; shake well. Strain into chilled martini glasses. Garnish with caramel-dipped apple slices.

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9 X 9 brownie pan or pyrex dish with parchment paper that extends up the sides of the pan. Butter parchment paper and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. In another bowl beat together butter, sugar and egg with a hand mixer until light and creamy, about 2 minutes. Add chopped pecans and apples, and stir by hand until combined. Add flour mixture, and stir until combined.
  • Spread batter in pan. Place caramel candies in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds, stir and then microwave for another 30 seconds. Drizzle caramel over batter, top with whole pecans and bake until golden, about 35 to 40 minutes. Cool on a wire rack for 30 minutes, then cut into 12 bars. If you like an extra caramel flavor for topping, drizzle additional melted caramel over the top of the cooled brownies and allow to set before cutting.
