CHERYL'S CHOCOLATE CHIP BLONDE BROWNIES

Steps:
- Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom only of 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray or butter.
- In large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, vanilla and eggs with electric mixer on medium-high speed until blended. On low speed, beat in flour, baking powder and salt until soft dough forms. Spread in pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over top.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool completely, about 3 hours. Cut into 6 rows by 4 rows.

This is the treat that is the most requested at Potlucks and at the office with the girls. Betcha' can't eat just one! Make sure that if you do bring them anywhere, that you also bring copies of the recipe. It makes a large batch. Plenty enough to share....or not.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease and flour a 9 x 13 inch pan.
- Cream butter & sugars until pale brown and thick; add the eggs one at a time and then add vanilla.
- Stir in chips, then add the flours, baking powder & salt. Be careful at this point because it makes a large batch and the powdery ingredients can go everywhere!
- Spread into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 45 minutes.
- Cut into 24 squares.

- Place cherries in a small bowl; add brandy. Cover and freeze for at least 3 hours., Place chocolate chips in a small heavy saucepan. Cook over low heat until chips begin to melt. Remove from the heat; stir. Return to the heat; cook just until melted. Immediately remove from the heat; stir until smooth., Pat cherries dry. Holding onto the stems, dip cherries into chocolate; allow excess to drip off. Place on a waxed paper-lined pan. Refrigerate for 10 minutes or until firm. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

- Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 13x9-in. baking pan with foil, letting ends extend up sides; grease foil., Combine flour and brown sugar; cut in shortening until fine crumbs form. Stir in 1/2 cup nuts and coconut. Set aside 1/2 cup crumb mixture for topping. Press remaining mixture into prepared pan. Bake until lightly browned, 12-15 minutes., Meanwhile, for filling, beat cream cheese, sugar, eggs and vanilla until smooth. Spread over hot crust. Bake 15 minutes. Spread pie filling on top. Combine remaining nuts and reserved crumb mixture; sprinkle over cherries. Bake 15 minutes more. Cool completely on a wire rack. Refrigerate until chilled. Lifting with foil, remove mixture from pan. Cut into bars. Refrigerate leftovers.
