CHINESE CHEWS
I had these last Christmas and had misplaced the recipe. These are a very good cookie and easy to transport, as they stay very firm.

Steps:
- 1. In mixing bowl, cream the butter, sugar, and brown sugar for one minute. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each is added. Sift together the flour and salt and add to the bowl. Mix just until the dough comes together; add the pecans and dates, mixing until just combined. Butter 9 x 13 inch baking pan and dust with flour. Spread the batter in the pan evenly as if baking bar or brownies. Place on center rack of oven and bake for 25 minutes at 375 degrees. Remove from oven and let cool for 20 minutes. While still warm, using a tablespoon or small ice cream scoop, scoop the balls from the baking pan of baked dough and roll into a nice round shape. Roll each ball in powdered sugar to coat. Cool completely and store in an air tight container. Delish!

MICROWAVE CHINESE CHEWS
Easy, yummy cookie. I make these for the holiday cookie exchange, but I felt so guilty for making such an easy cookie, I didn't make them one year. The next year I was asked to please make them again, people were asking for them.

CHINESE CHEWS (KILLEEN ISD RECIPE)
"Everyone" at school loved Chinese Chew day in the cafeteria. I made sure I had lunch money on that day!! Most of the recipes in my KISD cookbook do not show the preparation time or number of servings. Some show cook time, some don't. This recipe doesn't have any of those details, but believe me. You will not care. They are SO...

- 3. Remove from oven and, while hot, brush with a powdered sugar and water glaze.
ALMOND CHINESE CHEWS
I haven't tried these yet; I'm not big on sweets, but they looked good for when I do get that occasional craving.
