CHOCOLATE BUGLES

This is my most-requested Christmas candy. Each December, my husband, daughter and I whip up batches to fill colorful tins that we give to all our friends. It's so easy and fun to make!

Steps:

Cut a small hole in the corner of a plastic bag with peanut butter. Pipe the peanut butter into the Bugles. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt candy coating at 70% power for 1-1/2 minutes; stir. Heat 1 to 1-1/2 minutes longer or until melted; stir until smooth. Dip the filled end of Bugles halfway in coating. Place on waxed paper to dry.

Steps:

1. Cut a small hole in corner of a plastic bag; bill bag with peanut butter. Pipe the peanut butter into the bugles.
2. In a microwave-safe bowl; melt candy coating for 1-1/2 minutes. Stir. Heat 1 - 1-1/2 minutes longer or until melted.
3. Dip the filled end of the bugles halfway in the coating. Place on waxed paper to dry.

Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Bugles image

Steps:

Fill plastic food bag with peanut butter.
Cut small hole in corner of bag.
Twist open end of bag tight and carefully pipe the peanut butter into the Bugles.
Do not overfill or the filling will leak out.
In a microwave safe bowl, melt candy coating at 70% power for 1 1/ 2 minutes. Stir.
Heat 1 to 1 1/2 minutes longer or until melted; stir until smooth.
Chocolate can also be melted in the top of a double boiler.
Dip the peanut butter filled end of each Bugle halfway into the chocolate coating.
Place on waxed paper to dry.
Note: You can also use chocolate chips melted with 2 teaspoons of shortening to dip the bugles. If chocolate needs rewarming while dipping, place in microwave for a few seconds til smooth.

Place 1 1/2 cups of the crushed corn snacks in a medium bowl. Drizzle with melted butter, and stir until mixture resembles coarse, wet sand. Press mixture firmly into bottom of an 8-inch square glass or metal baking dish. Freeze until set, about 30 minutes.
Stir together peanut butter, graham cracker crumbs, and powdered sugar in a medium bowl until well combined. Spread mixture evenly on frozen crust. Freeze 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine chocolate and cream in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium-low, stirring often, until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth. Pour evenly over peanut butter mixture. Sprinkle remaining 2 tablespoons crushed corn snacks on chocolate mixture, and top evenly with whole corn snacks. Freeze until chocolate mixture is set, about 15 minutes.
Transfer to refrigerator, and chill until ready to serve. Cut into 16 (2-inch) squares. Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature up to 2 days.
