MICROWAVE CHOCOLATE MUG BROWNIE

This makes a delicious brownie for one in about a minute. 60 seconds makes a molten center brownie. 75 seconds make a uniformly done brownie. Be careful not to overcook.

Microwave Chocolate Mug Brownie image

Steps:

  • In a coffee mug, add water/milk, melted butter/oil, a dash of salt and vanilla extract. Whisk well.
  • Add cocoa powder, whisk well. Add sugar, whisk well. Add flour, whisk well.
  • Microwave for 60 seconds. Center should be slightly molten. Careful not to overcook.
  • Enjoy with a spoon. Careful, brownie will be hot.

2 tablespoons melted butter or 2 tablespoons oil
2 tablespoons milk or 2 tablespoons chocolate milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 dash salt
2 tablespoons white sugar, depending on how sweet you like it
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
4 tablespoons flour
to make triple chocolate add chocolate milk, chocolate chips, and serve with chocolate syrup

This is an adaptation of a recipe I was given by a friend. I have no idea where she originally got it, but it results in a moist, dense, chocolatey brownie in only a few minutes!

Chocolate Cherry Mug Brownie image

Steps:

  • In a regular coffee mug, combine melted margarine, vanilla, cherry juice, and salt, and stir.
  • Add cocoa and stir well.
  • Add flour and sugar, a tbs each at a time, mixing well in between each spoonful.
  • Finally, drop in the cherries and give a quick stir to cover them in the mixture.
  • Microwave on high for 60 to 90 seconds. It takes 75 seconds in my microwave, which I think is 1000w.
  • Brownie should be still slightly molten and will be VERY HOT, especially the cherries.
  • Enjoy!

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Mix sugar, oil, and almond extract together in a large bowl until well blended.
  • Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt in another bowl; stir into sugar mixture until combined. Beat in 1/2 of the cherries using an electric mixer until moistened. Fold in remaining cherries. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until brownies spring back when gently touched, 25 to 30 minutes.

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • In 2-quart heavy saucepan on low heat, melt 1 cup chocolate chips with butter, stirring constantly; remove from heat. Stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla.
  • Gradually add flour, baking powder and salt to chocolate mixture. Fold in oats, nuts, 1/2 cup chocolate chips and 1/3 cup chopped cherries.
  • Spread into greased 9 x 13" pan.
  • Bake at 350 F for about 25 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Cool on rack.
  • Cut brownies 4 by 6 across pan to make 24 squares.
  • Sprinkle remaining chopped cherries over top.
  • In small heavy saucepan on low heat, melt remaining 1/2 cup chocolate chips and shortening, stirring constantly.
  • Drizzle chocolate over top of brownies to make a lacey pattern.
  • Chill about 15 minutes to set chocolate. Recut brownies.

Steps:

  • Whisk together sugar, flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon, and salt in a microwave-safe mug.
  • Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla and mix well with a spatula, making sure the dry ingredients at the bottom get incorporated.
  • Microwave on high for 1 minute. Brownie will still be moist in the middle. If brownie appears too fudgy, microwave for another 30 seconds until desired consistency is reached. Do not microwave for more than 2 minutes total. The longer you cook it, the more cake-like the brownie becomes.
  • Cool for 5 minutes before eating, if you can wait that long!
