Steps:

  • Spread the cornmeal on a waxed paper.
  • Keep aside.
  • Coat both sides of the fish with the cornmeal.
  • Now, take a pan and in it combine all the ingredients, except for the fish, oil and cornmeal.
  • Dip the fish{thats coated with the cornmeal on both sides} into the prepared batter.
  • Fry the fish, in batches, in the hot oil on medium flame until golden brown on both sides and thoroughly cooked.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Serve hot.
  • Enjoy!

You'll think you're on Cape Cod when you taste this thick, wholesome chowder made from a recipe I've treasured for many years. It's one of my husband's favorites. Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, cook onion and bacon over medium heat until bacon is crisp; drain. Add milk, corn, clams, potatoes, butter, salt and pepper. Cover and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes., Stir in fish and heat through. Ladle into bowls. If desired, top with bacon and chives.

1 pound fish fillets (haddock, cod or flounder), cooked and broken into pieces

  • In a large saucepan over high heat, bring water to a boil. Add grits, stir, and cover. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook 15 to 18 minutes or until grits are softened, stirring occasionally.
  • Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine Fish Seasoning ingredients; mix well. Sprinkle seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of fish, patting seasoning lightly onto fish. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat oil until hot. Sauté fish (in batches, if necessary) 3 to 4 minutes per side, or until it flakes easily with a fork. Cut each piece of fish in half down the center.
  • Remove the grits from heat and add cheese, butter, salt, and pepper; stir until cheese and butter are melted. Evenly divide grits into 4 bowls and top each with 2 pieces of tilapia. Serve immediately.
