Here's an easy way to dress them up a bit and give them your own special touch. This came from Cheap Cooking. I have not tried this, just posting for easy finding.

- Heat the oil in a frying pan while you peel and slice the onion. Cook the onion very slowly until brown and caramelized.
- Add the beans and the flavorings of your choice.
- Simmer until the liquid is mostly evaporated.
