- In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Transfer to a 3-qt. slow cooker. Stir in the celery, Chinese vegetables, gravy mixes and soy sauce. Cover and cook on low until celery is tender, 4-6 hours, stirring occasionally. Serve with noodles.

- In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch, broth, soy sauce, salt and ginger until smooth; set aside., In a large skillet or wok, stir-fry the mushrooms, celery, onion, pepper and carrot in oil for 5 minutes. Add garlic; stir-fry 1-2 minutes longer or until vegetables are crisp-tender., Stir cornstarch mixture and add to the pan. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Add chicken; heat through. Serve with rice; sprinkle with chow mein noodles.

EASY CHOW MEIN CASSEROLE

- Heat oven to 375°F. In 10-inch nonstick skillet, crumble beef; sprinkle with garlic pepper. Cook over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until brown; drain.
- In ungreased 11x7-inch (2-quart) glass baking dish, mix beef, rice, broth, 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce and the water. Stir in vegetables. Cover baking dish with foil.
- Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until rice is tender. Uncover and stir; sprinkle with chow mein noodles and cashews. Bake uncovered 10 to 15 minutes longer or until noodles and cashews are golden brown.

My kids grew up eating this and absolutely love it. They are now serving it to their own families. It's one of my "comfort foods".

Steps:
- Cook ground beef until brown.
- Add onion and celery, cook until almost tender.
- Add remaining ingredients except chow mein noodles.
- Put into a two quart casserole dish.
- Cover and bake at 350 degrees for one hour and fifteen minutes.
- Uncover and layer with chow mein noodles.
- Return to oven, uncovered and bake until noodles are brown, about 15 minutes.

- Add cabbage and carrot brown this until wilted.
- Add drained mushrooms and onion soup mix.
- Mix the water, corn starch and soy sauce.

- 1. Preheat oven to 350*. In a large skillet brown your hamburger; drain off any excess grease. Add the celery and onion to the pan and sauté until tender crisp.
- 2. Add the Cream of Mushroom and Celery soups and stir to blend. Then add the 2 tbsp soy sauce, or to taste, cooked rice and stir again to blend.
- 3. Grease a 9x13 cake pan and add the mixture. At this time, if you wish, you can cover the top with crispy Chinese noodles, which are found in a bag in the Chinese section at your local grocery store.
- 4. Place on the middle rack and bake for 30-35 minutes or until brown and bubbling around the edges. You can serve with extra crispy Chinese noodles if desired.
