- Place the beans, oats and ketchup in a food processor; cover and pulse until blended. Transfer to a small bowl; stir in the vegetables, garlic and seasonings. Shape into six 3-in. patties; wrap each in plastic wrap and freeze., To use frozen burgers:Unwrap burgers and place on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until heated through, turning once. Serve on buns with lettuce and tomato.

Steps:
- in 8-inch nonstick skillet heat 1 tsp.
- of the oil.
- Add onion, pepper, carrot and celery; cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until vegetables are soft and moisture has evaporated, about 1 minute.
- Set aside to cool slightly Using a fork, in medium mixing bowl mash beans; stir in egg.
- Add bread crumbs and vegetable mixture; mix until thoroughly combined.
- Shape mixture into 4 equal patties.
- Set patties on plate; cover and refrigerate until chilled, at least 20 minutes.
- In same skillet heat 1 tsp.
- of the remaining oil.
- Add 2 patties; cook over medium heat, turning once, until browned on both sides and heated through.
- Remove patties to plate; keep warm.
- Repeat with remaining teaspoon of oil and 2 patties.

- 1. Heat oil,add onion, pepper, carrot, celery, cook over med. heat stirring occasionally, until veggies are soft and moisture has evaporated, about 1 or 2 min. Cool
- 2. Using a fork in a med. bowl smash beans, stir in egg. Add bread crumbs and veggies, mix until throughly combined.
- 3. Shape mixture into 4 equal patties. Set on a plate cover and refrigerate for 20 min.
- 4. Heat oil. Cook patties over med heat until brown on both sides. Serve on your favorite buns or bread with tomatos, lettuce, mayo mustard if wanted. Pickle spears on the side.

- Preheat oven to 350°. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, set aside.
- In the basin of a food processor, combine 2 cups of the black beans, bell pepper, onion, garlic, chili powder, cumin, hot sauce, and salt. Pulse until the mixture forms a smooth, thick paste—scraping the sides as necessary. Don't have a food processor? Check the recipe notes for an alternative method. Transfer the mixture to a large mixing bowl.
- Add in the remaining black beans, the eggs and 1 cup of the breadcrumbs, mix well. Continue adding breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup at a time, until the mixture can easily be formed into patties.
