MMMM I love french onion soup mix because it's so versatile. This turned out awesome!

French Onion Brown Rice Salad image

Steps:

  • Prepare rice with water in a medium pot.
  • In the mean time, combine green beans and peas in a large bowl and allow them to thaw.
  • When the rice is done cooking, add French onion soup mix and stir until well combined. Gradually add the rice into the veggies and combine. Serve warm or cold.

Amazing Brown Rice Salad image

Steps:

  • In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Stir in rice, cover, and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 45 to 60 minutes, or until done.
  • Transfer rice to a serving bowl, and stir in onion, celery, cranberries, salad dressing and sugar. Cover, refrigerate, and serve cold.

Steps:

  • Heat butter in 1 1/2-quart saucepan over medium heat.
  • Cook onion in butter 2 to 3 minutes or until tender. Add broth; heat to boiling. Stir in rice. Heat to boiling; reduce heat.

  • Place cold rice in large bowl and fluff with a fork to separate grains.
  • Add shrimp, dill and green onions. Toss gently.

Steps:

  • Cook brown rice until tender, allow to cool.
  • To prepare the dressing put the ingredients into a large jar with a tight fitting lid and shake well. Put aside.
  • In a large bowl add the rice and all other salad ingredients.
  • Pour over the dressing and mix through. The flavours improve on standing as the rice soaks in the dressing. Enjoy!
