Frozen Michelada image

Steps:

  • Mix the chili powder, salt and sugar in a small bowl, and then transfer to a plate. Rim 2 tall pint glasses with 1 lime wedge. Press the rim of each glass, one at a time, into the spice mixture to coat the edge. Chill glasses until ready to serve.
  • Put the lime juice, tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, celery salt and 1 cup ice in a blender and puree until smooth. Pour the mixture into the 2 chilled glasses and top off each with a bottle of beer. Garnish with the lime wedges and a sprinkle of celery salt.

1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon sugar
Juice of 2 limes plus 3 lime wedges
One 6-ounce can tomato juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
1/4 teaspoon celery salt, plus more for serving

Steps:

  • In a large pitcher, combine the tomato juice, clam-tomato juice, tequila, lime juice, horseradish, hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well.
  • In a small shallow dish, whisk to combine the salt and chili powder.
  • Dip glass rims in the salt mixture to coat. Fill glasses with ice, then fill halfway with tomato-tequila mixture. Top off with beer and serve.

4 cups tomato juice
2 cups clam-tomato juice, such as Clamato
2 cups gold tequila
1/4 cup lime juice
2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
3 or 4 dashes hot sauce
3 or 4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup kosher salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
10 cans Mexican lager beer
Ice, for serving

Steps:

  • Stir together the salt and lime zest in a small saucer. Rub the cut side of a lime half over the rim of 2 pint glasses. Dip the rims in the lime salt to coat.
  • Fill the glasses two-thirds full with ice. Squeeze the halved limes over the ice and drop the rinds into the glasses. Divide the tomato juice, chipotle peppers and lager between the glasses. Stir the mixture and serve immediately. Add football-carved limes for garnish if using.

  • Place coarse salt in a shallow dish; run a lime wedge around rims of 2 cocktail glasses. Dip rims of glasses into salt, shaking off excess. Fill each glass with ice. In a small pitcher, combine hot sauce, Maggi seasoning, Worcestershire sauce and lime juice. Add beer. Pour into glasses over ice. Garnish with lime wedges. Serve immediately.
