Turkey Soft Tacos image

Steps:

  • Place onions, jalapeno, and garlic in a grill pan over medium heat; cook and stir until fragrant, about 3 minutes. Stir in ground turkey, taco seasoning, and green bell pepper. Cook and stir until turkey is completely cooked through, 20 to 30 minutes. Divide turkey mixture among the tortillas.

Heart Healthy Soft Turkey Tacos image

Steps:

  • In a 10" skillet over medium heat, brown meat with onions,stirring occasionally, until no longer pink; drain. Stir in Taco Seasoning Mix and water. Add beans and cook on medium heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid is absorbed.
  • Serve on a Mission Whole Wheat Tortilla.
  • You may garnish with 2% Cheddar Cheese and a dollop of Fat Free Sour Cream.

Soft Turkey Tacos image

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in medium non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until soft, about 4 minutes. Add the zucchini, the salsa, and a couple tablespoons of water. Cover, cook for 5 minutes, or until the squash is tender. Transfer the vegetable mixture to a bowl with a spoon.
  • Squish the sausage meat from its casing into the same skillet. (Discard the casings.) Break the meat up with a wooden spoon. Cook the meat over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes or until it loses its color. Add the meat to the vegetables. Add the cheese and stir. Set aside.
  • Cut avocado in half. Using a spoon, scrape the avocado from the skin into another bowl. Smash the avocado with a fork and season with salt and pepper.
  • Wrap the tortillas in moist paper towels. Heat in the microwave for 1 minute or until warm. Lay out the tortillas and divide the turkey mixture evenly on top. Top with lettuce and avocado, fold the tortillas over and serve with salsa.

  • Heat a lightly oiled skillet over medium-high heat. Saute the turkey and onion until browned, about 8 minutes. Drain and discard juice.
  • Stir chile powder, garlic powder, and onion powder into the turkey mixture until well combined. Mix in salsa, green chile peppers, cilantro, salt, and pepper. Cook and occasionally stir taco filling until flavors meld, 7 to 10 minutes.

  • TO MAKE ON THE STOVETOP: add in garlic, tomato sauce water, cumin, chili powder, oregano, paprika, cayenne pepper and salt. Stir to combine. Simmer over medium low heat for 10-15 minutes or until mixture begins to thicken up.
  • TO MAKE IN THE SLOW COOKER: Transfer to the slow cooker and add in garlic, tomato sauce, cumin, chili powder, oregano, paprika, cayenne pepper and salt. Stir to combine. Cook on high for 2-3 hours or on low for 6-7 hours.
  • Once ready to serve, divide meat between 8 corn tortillas. Add optional toppings: tomatoes, cheese, diced avocado/guacamole, lettuce and jalapeno. Serves 4. Optional to serve with greek yogurt, if desired.
