Steps:

  • In a saucepan, pour boiling water over tea bags; cover and steep 5 minutes.
  • Remove tea bags from water, squeezing gently.
  • Stir in 2 cups cold water and sweetener, stirring until sweetener dissolves.
  • Serve over ice or let tea come to room temperature then serve over ice.

8 teaspoons green tea (with Jasmine-Presidents Choice)
4 cups water
1 piece fresh ginger (walnut size)
8 sprigs of fresh mint
2 lemon wedges
1/4 cup honey or 1/4 cup Splenda granular

Cold Brewed Jasmine Iced Tea image

Steps:

  • In a large pitcher combine the tea and water. Mix the sugar or honey with about a cup of hot water so that it dissolves and will mix with the room temperature water. Add the sugar/ hot water mixture to the pitcher. Put the pitcher in the refrigerator (preferably before you go to sleep) and let the tea leaves soak until morning (9-12 hours). Add lemon to taste and then pour the tea through a strainer so as to catch the tea leaves before serving.

Steps:

  • Steep loose tea (or tea bags) and mint leaves in simmering (not boliing) water for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Strain the tea (or remove the tea bags and mint leaves) and pour into a large pitcher. Stir in lemon juice and honey until the honey is dissolved.
  • Add cold water. Refrigerate until chilled, about 2 hours.
  • Serve over ice with mint sprigs, if desired.

  • Steep loose mint leaves in simmering (not boiling) water for 2 to 3 minutes. It’s advisable not to use boiling water when steeping tea leaves as it may burn the leaves, making your tea bitter.
  • Once your water is at the right temperature, add 20 grams of Jasmine tea leaves and steep for 2 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, bring sugar to a boil in a small saucepan and stir until sugar dissolves and takes the form of syrup. Let it cool completely.
  • As and when the 2 minutes steep is over, strain the tea into large pot. While the tea is still warm, add in honey and stir to dissolve. Let cool.
