Tender Country Style Ribs done in the Instant pot using a simple dry rub and a bbq sauce to top it off.

Steps:

  • Take your dry rub and massage it into the ribs on all sides.
  • Add beef broth to the bottom of your instant pot.
  • Place ribs in the instant pot.
  • Distribute the BBQ sauce over the top of the meat.
  • Lock the lid on the Instant Pot with the vent closed. Cook on high pressure for 40 minutes, then natural release fo 15-20 minutes.
  • Remove ribs and place on a cookie sheet (use foil for easy cleanup). Cover meat with some more BBQ sauce and broil for 3 minutes.
  • Serve!

dry rub seasonings, of your choice (1 TBS brown sugar, 1 tsp salt, paprika, garlic power, onion power, pepper cumin, etc)

Steps:

  • Rub all sides of the ribs with BBQ seasoning; set aside.
  • Place apple juice, liquid smoke and vinegar in the bottom of the Instant Pot insert and place trivet in the bottom.
  • Place ribs on the trivet trying not to overlap too much.
  • Cover with lid, and turn the pressure knob to SEALING.
  • Press the MANUAL or PRESSURE COOK button and set the timer for 25 minutes.
  • When cooking is done, let it release naturally for 10 minutes, then turn the knob to VENTING for a quick release then remove lid once pressure is out..
  • Preheat broiler to low heat.
  • Using tongs, remove ribs from the Instant Pot and place on a baking sheet lined with foil.
  • Spread BBQ sauce on top of ribs and place in the broiler for a few minutes until sauce starts to caramelize. Watch closely to avoid burning or drying out ribs.
  • Remove from oven and serve.

  • Place ribs, barbecue sauce, and stock in a programmable pressure multicooker (such as Instant Pot). (Times, instructions, and settings may vary according to cooker brand or model.) Cover cooker with lid, and lock in place. Turn steam release handle to SEALING position. Select MANUAL/PRESSURE COOK setting. Select HIGH pressure for 40 minutes. (It will take 23 to 28 minutes for cooker to come up to pressure before cooking begins.)
  • Carefully turn steam release handle to VENTING position, and let steam fully escape (float valve will drop). (This will take 2 to 3 minutes.) Remove lid from cooker. Turn cooker off.
  • Carefully transfer ribs to a large plate. Using a ladle, skim fat from top of sauce in cooker; discard. Serve ribs with sauce.
