STEAK TIP MARINADE

It took many experiments for this one. I have finally perfected a marinade that will make your mouth thirst for more.

Steak Tip Marinade image

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, mix the Worcestershire sauce, Italian-style salad dressing, garlic pepper seasoning, and barbeque sauce. Place the meat in the marinade, and turn to coat. Cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat grill for high heat.
  • Brush grill lightly with oil to prevent sticking. Place steaks on the grill, and discard marinade. Grill steaks 10 minutes on each side, or to desired doneness.

Steps:

  • Combine green onions, brown sugar, soy sauce, sherry, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, sesame seeds, black bean sauce, black pepper, and garlic chile paste in a large bowl. Whisk until brown sugar is completely dissolved, 2 to 3 minutes.

1 bunch green onions, chopped
1 ½ cups brown sugar

KABOB MARINADE

This is a tasty, easy to make marinade that is great for any grilled meat. It makes enough for about two pounds of uncooked meat. Hunters - try this on your deer.

  • In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, ground black pepper, garlic, and meat tenderizer. Mix well, and add your favorite meat. Seal the bag, and marinate in the refrigerator for 4 to 24 hours.

KABI MARINADE STEAK TIPS

This is a recipe I got from a friend from Hawaii. Every time I make it for someone who hasn't had it before, they ask for the recipe. I always estimate the quantities, so the measurements listed are approximate. Steak tips are not known nationally. A good butcher will know what flap meat is. Have them cut into long strips, a couple of inches wide.

Steps:

  • Combine soy sauce and water. Use more or less water depending on your taste preferences.
  • Add ginger, scallions, crushed red pepper, honey, brown sugar, and garlic. Mix well.
  • Add steak tips. Cut tips into large chunks. About 1 1/2". Avoid buying steak tips already cut up. They're usually too small. Avoid cutting the pieces too small as they will cook too quickly. If you can't find steak tips, ask your butcher for flap meat. I get mine at Costco in about 3 lb. packages.
  • Marinate tips for 1/2 to 1 hour. Prepare grill for medium to medium hot heat.
  • Grill tips to medium rare. Turning frequently.
