KIWI-LIME SORBET

A perfect ending to any Asian meal.

Kiwi-Lime Sorbet image

Steps:

  • Puree all ingredients in processor.
  • Process in ice cream maker according to manufacturer's instructions. Transfer to container, cover, and freeze until solid, at least 3 hours. (Can be made 2 days ahead. Let stand at room temperature 30 minutes before serving.)

1 3/4 pounds kiwis (about 8), peeled
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup frozen limeade concentrate

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, combine milk and sugar. Cook over medium heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture reaches 175°. Cool to room temperature. Stir in the lime juice and zest. Freeze in an ice cream freezer according to manufacturer's directions. , Transfer frozen lime mixture to a large bowl; allow to soften slightly. In a small bowl, beat whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Fold into softened lime mixture. Allow ice cream to firm up in your refrigerator freezer for 4 hours before serving.

Lime Ice Cream With Kiwi Fruit image

Steps:

  • Put the lime zest and juice into a bowl then stir in the icing sugar, set aside.
  • Whip the cream and water together to a soft peak consistency, then beat in the lime mixture.
  • Pour into a polythene freezer box and freeze for 3 - 4 hours or overnight.
  • Remove from the freezer 15 minutes before you need it and serve with kiwi fruit.

  • In a saucepan, bring kiwi and wine or soda to a boil. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add gelatin; stir until dissolved. Stir in chilled soda and orange juice. Steps:

  • Whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, sugar, lime juice, and lemon zest in a saucepan over medium heat until well-blended. Continuously stir the egg mixture with a wooden spoon until thickened, 7 to 8 minutes. The mixture should be thick enough to coat the back of the spoon. Remove from heat, and stir in the half and half until smooth. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve set over a clean bowl. Cover and chill the mixture in the refrigerator, stirring occasionally, until cool, about 1 hour.
  • Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer's directions until it reaches "soft-serve" consistency.
