Lemon Sweet Tea Recipes

Steps:

• Place green tea bags and black tea bags in a 1-gallon glass jar. Pour boiling water over tea bags; steep for 30 minutes.
• Remove tea bags; stir in sugar and lemonade concentrate until dissolved. Fill jar to the top with cold water; stir in lemon juice. Chill in the refrigerator until cold. Serve over ice.

Steps:

• 1. Fill a large sauce pan with water and 8-10 tea bags. Bring to a boil.
• 2. Reduce heat and let tea simmer for a few minutes. Remove from heat. Remove tea bags, set them aside in a glass measuring cup. Let tea cool a bit, but you still want the tea warm enough to dissolve the sugar.
• 3. Pour sugar and lemon juice in pitcher then pour pan of warm tea into the pitcher and stir until sugar is dissolved.
• 4. Fill the measuring cup with the tea bags with cold water and strain into picture. Repeat until pitcher or jug is completely full. Stir one more time. Add sliced lemon if desired and chill.
• 5. Serve in a glass over ice. Yield 1 gallon.

Steps:

• For the cupcakes: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a cupcake pan with 12 liners.
• Heat the milk in the microwave for 1 minute, stir and then add 30 more seconds. Place the tea bags in the milk and allow steeping for 5 minutes.
• Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt. In the bowl of an electric stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, mix the granulated sugar, oil, vanilla and the eggs, 1 at a time. Alternate adding the flour and only 1/2 cup of the tea until incorporated. Reserve 1/2 cup of the tea for the frosting.
• Fill the cupcake liners and bake for 15 minutes. Rotate the pan and continue until the cupcake tops spring back and a tester comes out clean, about 5 more minutes. Allow to cool completely before frosting.
• For the frosting: Cream the butter in the bowl of an electric stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Add the lemon zest. Slowly alternate adding the confectioners' sugar and 1/2 cup reserved tea until you reach the desired frosting consistency.
• Frost the cooled cupcakes and serve.

Steps:

• Measure sugar and place in large mixing bowl with 1 cup lemon juice and baking soda. Stir to blend. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat and place tea bags in the pan to steep for no more than 5 minutes. Remove the bags and discard, being sure not to squeeze the bags. This can release the tannin which causes your tea to taste bitter. Pour hot tea into sugar/lemon mixture and stir to mix well. Transfer into one gallon container and fill to the top with cold water. Refrigerate and serve over ice.

• Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and add 4 bags of black tea. Let steep for 5 minutes, then discard bags. Stir in 3 tablespoons Truvia® natural sweetener spoonable* and 2 teaspoons lemon juice. Refrigerate until chilled and serve over ice, if desired.
