This cocktail was developed for Mary Pickford at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba while she was visiting Cuba in the 1920's with her friend Charlie Chaplin. This is a simple cocktail so it's best to use a good quality rum, and fresh pineapple juice if you can get it.
