TOFU STIR-FRY RECIPE

Go vegetarian with this Tofu Stir-Fry Recipe. Crispy tofu and softened vegetables give this Tofu Stir-Fry Recipe a nice contrast in textures.

Steps:

  • Toss tofu with flour in small bowl until evenly coated. Heat oil in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add tofu; cook 8 min. or until lightly browned on all sides, stirring occasionally. Remove from skillet; cover to keep warm.
  • Mix dressing and soy sauce until well blended. Add 2 Tbsp. of the dressing mixture, vegetables and soy beans to same skillet; cook and stir 10 min. or until vegetables are crisp-tender.
  • Add remaining dressing mixture and the tofu to vegetable mixture; mix lightly. Cook 2 min., stirring gently. Serve over the rice.

1 cup fresh green beans, trimmed, cut in half
1/2 cup each: sliced onions and carrots
2-2/3 cups hot cooked brown rice

MY SISTER CHRIS' TOFU STIR FRY

My sister Chris made me this stir fry for me first around 17 years ago when I visited her and her now husband in their first apartment. I don't think I'd had tofu yet, although I'd been vegetarian for a few years at that point. I still love it and make it regularly. I often add some stirfry sauce to it these days, so that's your option. Serve with rice or noodes, or your favourite grain.

My Sister Chris' Tofu Stir Fry image

Steps:

  • Marinate tofu in soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and cayenne or chili paste, for an hour or so. I often prep it in the morning, and let it marinate all day, but I hear proper tofu marinating teqnique says to marinate no more than an hour. ;o).
  • Stirfry veggies and tofu in a bit of oil until veggies are tender-crisp and tofu is hot. Sprinkle with cashews and serve over noodles or rice.

1/3 cup soy sauce
