AUNT MYRT'S CRANBERRY JELLO

My aunt Myrt made this jello dish for Thanksgiving years ago and one bite you will be hooked. Lite creamy cranberry jello that goes well with any main dish.

Aunt Myrt's Cranberry Jello image

Steps:

  • Add 2 cup of boiling water to jello stir well until dissolved, than add 1 1/2 cold water stir. Set aside let cool completely but don't allow to set up.
  • Beat in softened cream cheese stir in cranberries and nuts if desired.
  • Chill and sever.

1 (16 ounce) box jello raspberry gelatin powder (if in season I use Cranberry Jello)
1 (14 ounce) can cranberries or 1 (14 ounce) can orange relish
8 ounces softened cream cheese
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Myrt's Christmas Spaghetti image

Steps:

  • Sauté onions, bell pepper, and garlic in 5 tablespoons of olive oil.
  • Add beef and cook until no longer pink.
  • Add stewed tomatoes, olives, salt, pepper, and cheese.
  • Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Then add Worcestershire sauce, mushroom pieces and tomato soup.
  • Combine mixture with cooked spaghetti, refrigerate overnight.
  • To serve, heat in oven at 350°F for approximately 45-60 minutes, or until heated through.

1 (12 ounce) box spaghetti, cooked
1 onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 lb ground beef
1 (12 1/2 ounce) can stewed tomatoes, mashed
1/2 cup stuffed green olive, sliced
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup American cheese, grated
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 (4 ounce) can mushroom pieces
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can tomato soup

This is my mother-in-laws much requested recipe for ribs. They are tender and delicious with a mildly spiced sauce you can pour over rice.

Steps:

  • Place the ribs in a dutch oven or large saucepan with enough water to cover.
  • Bring to a boil, lower the temperature and simmer the ribs for 30 minutes.
  • Drain the ribs.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Season the ribs with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Place in a shallow roasting pan meaty side up.
  • Combine the sauce ingredients, and pour over the ribs.
  • Bake until done, about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  • Baste ribs with sauce every 15 minutes.
  • If sauce gets too thick, add a bit of water.
