CHOCOLATE-PEANUT PARTY POPCORN
"I use semisweet chocolate because it works with the toffee and butter, but milk chocolate tastes just as good!" says Sunny.

Steps:
- Combine the vegetable oil and 1 popcorn kernel in a heavy pot over high heat; cover. When it pops, add the rest of the kernels. Partially cover and cook, shaking the pot, until you no longer hear the popping sounds. Remove from the heat and spread the popcorn on a baking sheet.
- In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the toffee chips and peanuts and stir until the toffee melts and evenly coats the peanuts, about 2 minutes, adding more butter if needed. Pour the mixture over the popcorn. Use a rubber spatula to toss the popcorn and toffee sauce to evenly coat.
- Put the chocolate chips in a small microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring, until melted. Dip a whisk in the melted chocolate and use it to drizzle over the popcorn. Let harden before serving.

CARAMEL PRETZEL NUT POPCORN
This is a very good holiday treat the my kids can't get enough of. It combines the sweetness of caramel with the saltiness of pretzels, nuts and popcorn. There is no mess because it is mixed in a large throw-away brown bag!

Steps:
- Place the pretzels, popcorn and peanuts into a large paper bag or, if you have one, a very large bowl. Set aside.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Cook, stirring to melt the butter and dissolve the sugar, until the mixture comes to a boil. Once the mixture is at a full boil, continue to cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove from the heat, and stir in the salt, vanilla, and baking soda. The mixture will foam up when you add the soda, so use a long spoon to stir. Immediately pour the sugar mixture over the popcorn and pretzels in the bag. Shake until evenly coated. For a crispier treat, boil the sugar mixture longer, or bake the finished mix in the oven at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 10 minutes.

SWEET, SALTY, SPICY PARTY NUTS
I find this technique much easier than the stovetop pan method. You'll get beautiful, perfectly frosted nuts that are roasted evenly, with no bitter burned spots.

- There is really no big secret to making this popcorn mix. You can add or delete ingredients to your tastes, and increase or decrease quantities of whatever you prefer. It is basically a no-fail recipe. Here's how we like to make it:
- In a large glass bowl, stir together one package of popcorn (if you are using microwave popcorn use two packages), 1/3 a bag of pretzels, 3/4 cup of dried cranberries, 3/4 cup of M&Ms, 3/4 Cup of Peanuts
- When you stir them together, all of the nuts, berries and chocolate will sink to the bottom...that's ok. When you add the white chocolate to the popcorn mix it will get them more integrated into the mix.
- In a microwave, melt 1 cup of white chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. Chocolate can burn easily, so be sure to microwave it in spurts, no more than about 20-30 seconds at a time, stirring it each time you check it to make sure it gets smooth and creamy without burning.
