ORANGE CREAM FREEZER DESSERT

Orange Cream Freezer Dessert image

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine cracker crumbs and sugar; stir in butter. Set aside 2 cups for topping. Press remaining crumb mixture into two greased 15x10x1-in. pans. Cover and freeze for at least 10 minutes., In a large bowl, combine ice cream and orange juice concentrate until smooth. Spoon over crusts (pans will be full). Freeze for 10 minutes or until partially firm., Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture; gently press down. Cover and freeze for up to 2 months. Remove from the freezer 15 minutes before serving.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a large bowl, combine 2 cups flour, almonds, 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar, and 1 tsp orange zest.
  • Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
  • Press into bottom of a 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, or until lightly browned.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, orange juice, and extract.
  • Combine remaining 1/4 cup flour and baking powder and add to sugar mixture, whisking to combine.
  • Pour over crust.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, or until set.
  • Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar, if desired.
  • Cut into squares to serve.

Creamy Frozen Orange Squares image

Steps:

  • In medium skillet, toast almonds over medium heat 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until light golden brown. Immediately remove from heat; reserve 2 tablespoons for topping.
  • Add butter to remaining almonds in skillet; stir until butter is melted. Add cookie crumbs; mix well. Press mixture in bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch pan. Cool completely, about 10 minutes.
  • In large bowl, stir ice cream and sherbet until partially blended. Spoon over cooled crust; smooth top. Cover; freeze until firm, at least 4 hours.
  • To serve, cut dessert into squares; place on individual dessert plates. Garnish each with whipped cream, reserved toasted almonds and orange curl.

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F
  • Press cookie dough evenly on bottom and 1 inch up sides of ungreased 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish (If dough is sticky, use floured fingers).
  • Sprinkle evenly with orange peel.
  • In medium bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, marmalade and liqueur with electric mixer on medium-high speed about 1 minute or until well blended.
  • Add eggs; beat about 2 minutes or until well blended and mixture is creamy.
  • Spread evenly in crust.
  • Bake 29 to 36 minutes or until crust is golden brown and center is set.
  • Cool 1 hour.
  • In small microwavable bowl, microwave whipping cream and food color uncovered on High about 30 seconds or just until boiling.
  • Add butter and baking chips; stir until chips are melted.
  • Spread mixture evenly over bars.
  • Refrigerate about 1 1/2 hours or until chilled and firm.
  • To serve, cut into 6 rows by 4 rows, using thin, sharp knife and wiping blade occasionally.
  • Cover and refrigerate any remaining dessert squares.

  • Beat butter with a hand or a stand mixer until creamy, then add the flour, sugar, and salt and beat until a dough forms. (If you’re using a hand mixer it will take extra time.) Press the crust into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for 18 minutes.
